"State of the art Hotel, with a 2600 in every room! Except the Honeymoon Suites, we've upgraded those to the 7800 (with XM!)"

Of course Atari get there first. The Apple Hotel will cost 3 times as much and the mini bar will not be available for 10 years.

I wonder how much Atari is worth nowadays. I wonder (may be more dream that wonder) if it wouldn't be possible for the Atari/retro community to collect the necessary money to buy the Atari rights and put them in the public domain.

At the current share price, you'd just need ca. 40 million Euro to become the majority shareholder in Atari SA. ;)
But Atari SA, apart from the name, have nothing to do with the Atari we love. Atari SA is the company doing the relaunch/re-imagination of the VCS and the hotel deal. I'm not even sure they hold any rights with respect to the 16/32 bit computers.

Ouch, I thought it was a much smaller company once it went bankrupt a few years ago.

Not that I know for sure, but yes, according to Wikipedia and other sources, this is the former Infogrames. And Infogrames had all rights that belonged to the Tramiels.

Ha ha may be it's true that we will see huge neon Atari logo across the skylines of cities in the near future.
Hang on.... I don't see LA on the list...

The remodeled fuji logo does nothing for me except to remind me they have nothing to do with Atari.
