ST Computer PD Collection

Post by simonsunnyboy »

The PD collection of the German magazine ST Computer is now available as a torrent. Currently there are no other seeders so please start to share this as I can't seed for 24hrs a day.

It's PD and mostly in German, German users should know them. The torrent contains Disks 1 to 800 or so in .MSA format

When I find my JBinUp key, I'll bung this onto the newsgroups.

It's on one of these hard-drives ...

Meanwhile, will keep seeding.

If you are asking for good Bittorrent clients, I can recommend Azureus. I personally use Transmission under Linux but I don't know if there is a version for Windows available. For Windows, try Azureus.

For unpacking ZIP files, well the easiest program is Winzip or using 7-zip. I'd recommend the latter one because it unpacks really a lot of data types.
You will need it anyway as the torrent downloads you a file packed with 7-zip to a .7z file.

Finally remembered to get them uploaded to the newsgroups, so here's the NZB file to grab the (almost complete) set of ST Computer PD disks.

I'll stop seeding the torrent on Sunday evening.

Maybe, the CDROM from which I generated the initial torrent stops at 800 something. Maybe there were HD disks that I couldn't convert to MSA or so.
Ofcourse share if there are more...

An NZB points to a collection of newsgroup articles which, when stitched back together, will generate the whole of that ST Computer collection.

It's not dis-similar in concept to p2p file sharing but the technology is different.

BTW chaps, I've downloaded the torrent file and placed it on my seedbox. It's directly plugged into a 100mbps network so I think it will have a max speed of approximately 12mb/s up and 12mb/s down (bytes not bits btw!) depending upon how busy the network is. I will leave it on there for as long as possible. A couple of months is realistic. :-)

Shall I make a new torrent of the merged archive and seed it?
