ST format issue 1 online
Word up, folks!
Check out my new site at http://www.jazzmaverick.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/. It's ST Format issue 1 ready for your perusal.
Now, you might call me nuts, but I came across a job lot of ST Formats on ebay recently, and I have really enjoyed reading through them, so I thought it would be great to share them and maybe spark some discussion about the articles, reviews etc.
It's not quite a fully scanned .rtf format, but I haven't the software nor the web space for that. Anyway, this is such a great magazine it really should be online and preserved in some way for prosperity.
Let me know what you think. All suggestions regarding layout, content, design, browser compatibility etc. will be gratefully received.
I'm learning HTML on the fly too, so if you have any suggestions along those lines, let me know.
Cheers,
Jazz Maverick

Would you consider scanning them into .PDF format (1 x JPEG per page) as that's how most of my old magazines are stored from old Crash, ZZap and other magazines.

Thanks for the feedback guys!
Anyway, I'm 'plowing on' with issue 2, I'll let you know when its up.

I agree a full page J-PEG .pdf would preserve the magazine in it's proper form for future ages, and you would be able to see it exactly as it was meant to be. However, I don't have the (free) web space for this amount of information. Also, my scanning software does some funny things when I try this.muguk wrote:Would you consider scanning them into .PDF format (1 x JPEG per page) as that's how most of my old magazines are stored from old Crash, ZZap and other magazines.
The advantage of using HTML is that Ataris and compatibles can access it too, how does the page look on an Atari, Jens?jens wrote:Muguk, I really don't like PDF as I like seeing Atari related stuff on my Atari.

Zview displays PDF files just fine... As long as you have a Falcon.jens wrote:Muguk, I really don't like PDF as I like seeing Atari related stuff on my Atari.

If you like to change the pictures to ascii art I will not stand in your way.
The page is well accessible with Highwire, without showing background images though.

Thanks for posting those screen grabs, jens. They look really cool! Now I'm really wishing I could hook my ST up to the internet!

Thanks for the support Maartens, I think I have included names on most articles, but I will add an extra 'credits' section shortly. Thanks a lot, I love reading STF!
Keep us up to date!
Jazz, you might want to add the names of the authors with the articles and reviews, guess that is better to avoid copyright isues??
