does your ST Video Player work on STE?
As you can see on screenshots below it shows strange colors. I use Germans STE with Ultrasatan. That player behaves the same on my MegaSTE.

Sorry I can't see your screenshots, could you do it again ?
There could be the warmup state issue that happens on some configuration at first boot, a reboot / warmup of the STe could solve it or... I may have a patch to definitely solve it

Most likely the problem is low transfer speed with your SD card. Check it with this: http://atari.8bitchip.info/ahpt.html
Must be min. 1100 KB/sec . Some cards are slower, some faster with UltraSatan.

Famous Schrodinger's cat hypothetical experiment says that cat is dead or alive until we open box and see condition of poor animal, which deserved better logic. Cat is always in some certain state - regardless from is observer able or not to see what the state is.
