Still think my idea is best Anyway, I agree with lotek_style about a new game not being a puzzler, as nice as they are I prefer action type games which we have not had for a while, except for Roger which was excellent. Anyway, keep up the good work and can't wait to see the next game whatever it is
I am sorry cooper, not familiar with the game or GBA for that matter. If you' d like I can write a small text describing the idea, but to put it in game terms chess+worms+red alert it turn based.
I admit that I have been addicted to puzzlers but I would like to see more action games and I agree with Lotek that we need a break from puzzlers.
On other game ideas I remember two 8-bit games I used to love:
The one was one on one a basketball game and the other which I used to refer to as pixelrocks, Hazard run, featuring the Dukes.
If we are talking about 8-bit conversion what about Attack of the Mutant Camels which was one of the best shooters ever to grace the C64. It was also the precursor to both Revenge of the Mutant Camels games on the ST and other platforms. If memory serves only the C64 got Attack so it would be one up on every one else
I spotted a flash game which neatly reversed the conventions of your typical raiden-style shootemup.
Instead of the player being the lone hero in the super dogfighter, blasting the massed hordes of bad guys, their bases and installations, supertanks etc, YOU are the bad guy, trying to stop the heroic idiot, in his super-turbo nutter starfighter.
To make it interesting, the "good" guy has shielding that your guns erode, you can call on waves of fighters to attack him, and take control of individual gun turrets as the game world moves on. It works surprisingly well.
I even think there might have been a two player option, where the second player was able to take the opposing side.
