Recently I have got a 3D printer and started a project to build a ST like case for BeePi.
As we are celebrating the 40 years of the ST the year, I think that's the right time to release this project.
The specs for this project are :
A ST like case proportional to the real one ( more or less 60% scale)
Each part can be printed in one piece (I use an Elegoo Neptune 3 which can printed part up to 320 x 320 mm)
Printed with PETG ( PLA is not heat resistant enough, and ABS is too complicated to handle without a printer sealed case)
The case can be easily adapted to RPI3, 4 and any hardware with removable back and side panels.
STL files and 3D sources made with Onshape will be freely available.
Hardware can be easily sourced :
RPi 5 with passive or active heatsink
Mechanical 60% keyboard (Ranked supernova S60)
SSD + Sata USB3 ( works with RPI4 and 5). RPI 5 can use a NVMe hat.
USB Audio interface ( RPi5 can use an audio hat or better a NVMe / audio hat)
USB Midi interface
USB 3 hub connection
Ethernet connection
Wireless mouse
I have printed the first prototype and everything fits well. I have not done yet any post processing but the rough print is not that bad.
I still have to correct / improve a few things and write a complete BOM and tuto before releasing it but it will come soon.
