XIN-MO Arcade Controller - Compatibility

Post by dhackd »

XIN-MO Arcade Controller (2 Players) Jamma -> USB
aka: Juyao Dual Arcade

I have used this controller in a couple arcade cabinets with the Raspberry PI, and would start to use the MISTer project. Wanted to know if any has had any luck getting this working, before I purchase the MISTer.

The only issues that I had was that Raspberry PI see it only as 1 Joystick, so you have to add: usbhid.quirks=0x16c0:0x05e1:0x040 so that it will see it as 2 separate joysticks.

If this works correctly, I will be purchasing the MISTer for my next arcade project.. :)

I suspect it will work if it works with a Pi.

according to some users MiSTer sees it as a single controller.
Not sure if that quirk works with any kernel or it's RPi specific. If RPi specific, then probably can be ported to MiSTer kernel.

I use a similar Xin-Mo board in my bartop arcade, using a generic PC instead of a RPi, and I have to use similar kernel parameters at boot time. I'll test the board with MiSTer and will post the results.

Hi !

I have 2 single player XinMo controllers, this can be an alternative... Works perfectly, each is recognized as a distinct controller.

cheers

Do they have the Jamma edge connector, or fightstick style? Would like to keep the Jamma edge or have to wire up everything then also add amp for sound. Want to use the most of the arcade wiring if I can.

Sorg accepted a pull request to fix the dual joystick. It requires a new kernel built from the sources as well as quirks in the u-boot.txt
