What game would you like to see translated (to English)

Post by Klapauzius »

Hi folks!

yeah, the topic says it all. :-)

If you vote for the "other game" option, then please tell us which title you have in mind.

And as Muggie already mentioned in an earlier post: if you think you can help us with the translation then don't be shy and fire up this hex editor... We'll try and take care of the rest (i.e. patching the code to work with the new text, etc.) :-)

Cheers

The tears are welling in my eyes again, I need twenty big buckets to catch them in, twenty pretty girls to carry them down, twenty deep holes to bury them in.

I would love to see "Earthlight" on the SNES translated from Jap to English.
(You didn't specify any particular system  )
I have never played any of those listed, in fact, I can't think of any ST games I played that were in another Language......
I may find one or two very soon however....

I voted for black sect since I really like adventures. I don't know if the game is falcon compatible but if it isn't any chance for a falcon fixed version? Hey a good idea about a poll. Falcon fixes.

Well, since you already translated Black Sect (which would have been my vote), I'll have to vote for "something else."

My vote, while a little OT, would be Ishar III. I know it was already released in English, but there don't seem to be any good cracks of the English version. Maybe the English text could be substituted into a better French crack? In any case, a new version would be best in my books.

Hi Denis!

Yes, "The Short Grey" might be the next target for translation. I was always curious to know what is going on in this game... ;-)

However it will probably take quite some time before we get that started.
Your help would be very much appreciated though. :-)
I believe the amount of text in The Short Grey is even larger than it is in Black Sect, so any help would be very welcome.

Cheers

No problem with whichever one it is next. Bring on the "Franglais" (c/o Babelfish etc.) and I'll churn it into proper English :)

La abadia del krimen.....I probably spelled it wrong, but this is one great game that is impossible to play unless you are Spanish!

Hi Klaz, doesn't matter how big it is, it's less bigger than the Policenauts PSX french translation i'm working on !

so if you agree to rip the text, send it to me and i'll process it for you :D

This one..

Actually, 'Big Bug Bang', which would be 'Captain Blood 3'

(Yes, I know it's not ST, but the original was..)

NayusDante was (supposedly) working on this back in April, but he doesn't seem to have posted since.. :(

Here's a French ST game that I'd like to play in English:

Vers l'Inconnu 2

I like future-themed adventures.

A useful tool I've found for those who want to help / kickstart a translation is the following (Windows) tool. All it does is extract all the ASCII text you can find in any binary file.

E.g. Use BinText on the files in a foreign-language game, post up a request with your findings into a separate thread and others (who naturally speak that language) could lend a hand and help with the translation.

http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Util ... nText.html

This would help us (in AL) a great deal - all we have to do then is work out if it's possible to put the English translation back into the program (without causing it to go wrong).
