Fantasic Work! Just had it runing on real STe Hardware on CRT - what a blast to see it running in that way!
On your itch.io download page you mention "play it on hardware other than original STe": check out the "Windows Standalone Package" on my anarcholab itch.io page. This could be a great fit!

This really plays well. Love the day and night cycle, the day feels so nice and bright once you get through it, but then I love the stars too!

Agreed, outstanding work!
Re: FASTER - OUT NOW - A brand new, 100% oldskool, super-fast-and-smooth racer for Atari STE
Thanks everyone for your kind words and feedback!
I just want to emphasise that this game was in no way a solo effort - I wouldn't have been able to do it without all the collaborators that jumped in with amazing contributions, namely:
Junosix - built upon the original DMA sound mixer by Masteries to add in a variable engine noise, and provided all the digital sound effects;
Dma-sc - provided an amazing YM soundtrack that perfectly complements the game;
Scott Elkington - remastered the original car sprites into something much more appealing;
Karl Morris - created a wonderful high colour title screen that's displayed in 156 colours in-game;
Zerkman - provided the YM playback routine;
Masteries - provided the original DMA sound mixer later enhanced by Junosix
Additionally, the following people, knowledge, tools and resources were instrumental:
The Beyond Brown GCC compiler - thanks to ggn, dml and everybody else who was involved;
The VASM assembler for performance-critical parts of the codebase;
All Atari Forum folk who provided 68k and Blitter knowledge, particularly Anima, dml and everybody else involved in researching optimal use of the Blitter for rendering sprites;
The Hatari emulator, and particularly those involved in implementation of the debug and profiler tools!
The 68k cycle counter tool by Graham Bates, massively useful for micro optimisation purposes!
The authors GIMP graphics editor, used for creating the sprite sheets for the game;
The PHP language, used for a variety of purposes within the build process.
The MAME emulator, which allowed me to closely inspect a certain arcade game that provided a great deal of creative inspiration.
The internet can be a pretty awful place at times but I'm pleased with how it brought people, tools and knowledge together to allow us to create this 2024 game for a crusty old 1989 system.

Top notch!
Adding Jagpad support is a single subroutine for a few register reads, shouldn't be too hard to add.
All I am missing is a large high score table but that's about it.
Cool to play something new instead of remakes/enhancement projects

Speed and control of it is great! I need to slow down the car on tighter curves, but can accelerate again before curve straightens out.

FASTER an amazing release, looks superb and is heaps of fun to play! It's great to see the STEs capabilities being utilised/pushed! The 1 feature I would like to see though is the ability to disable the YM Chip Tune (as good as it is) and just have the sampled cars sounds.
Re: FASTER - OUT NOW - A brand new, 100% oldskool, super-fast-and-smooth racer for Atari STE
Had a good session playing it yesterday on a real falcon, tried multiple STE2FALC and Backward settings to see if the graphic 'glitches' would go away but to no avail. Doesn't distract anything from the game though, superb and well done.
Very responsive, so easy to play but will be difficult to master.
