Thanks! It's quite a low budget effect but it adds quite a lot of atmosphere to the proceeedings!

Quick update - I'm planning to release the finished game at the Silly Venture 2024 WE demoparty from 5th - 8th December 2024.

The game will be made available for download after the party finishes, and the source code will follow in due course. The game will require an PAL STE with 1 meg of RAM - STFM is not supported.

I've now submitted FASTER for Atari STE to the Silly Venture 2024 WE demoparty from 5th-8th December in Poland.

The game will be available as a free download from 9th December onwards.

Can't wait to play this, I don't have an STE (only ST/Falcon) so should play without an issue on a Falcon with either STE2FALC or Backward (all my original ST games work with either of these 2).

Perhaps one day I can produce a 4 player spin-off of FASTER that makes use of the SHOTGUN adapter

Thank you! I'll be interested to hear what the game does when run in conjunction with STE2FALC or Backward, as I've encountered a lot of unexpected problems trying to get it to run on Falcon.

This is cool. A suggestion: I think it'd be even better if the stars looked like some of our constellations (e.g. Orion's belt). The fact they look different is a little jarring. Anyway, great work!

Huge Congratulations Chicane on winning 1st place in the ST Games category at Silly Venture 2024. It must have been leagues ahead of it's closest rival!? The finished game looks and plays amazingly and I'm looking forward to getting it on to floppy disk and playing on my STE later this week (small matter of an office Xmas party to negotiate between now and then ). My Atari monitor is unfortunately away for repair at the moment, so I won't be able to get the full, authentic experience for a few weeks yet

I was a big, big fan of arcade racing games back in the day - none more so than WEC Le Mans (ok, maybe Outrun). I played the Speccy version of Le Mans to death before upgrading to an ST and still remember the disappointment that it was never released on the that platform. So to get FaSTEr, some 35 years later, utilising all the additional bells & whistles the STE has to offer, is nothing short of incredible. Thank You

I mentioned in the YouTube comments I was working on a box, so I can display in my shadow box frame. I've been tinkering with this idea in Photoshop for a while and have now finished it - will be sending it to print in the next few days. Hope it doesn't offend - it's just a bit of fun

Thank you! It wasn't a million miles ahead of 2nd place, but I'm pleased all the hard work put into this game by everybody has been recognised!

Have spent a good bit of time playing it this week as part of STOT, and yesterday even managed to trigger a bug that I've not seen before. Lost the engine sound and just got some white noise - not sure if it was part of the skid or a crash or just the DMA sound start/end pointers just getting stuck at a random location! Thankfully with the music going I didn't care too much and ploughed on

Excellent game, had my first go on HatariST on my Nintendo 3DS and it plays lovely. Looking forward to trying it out on real hardware when I get my stuff set up again. Thankyou for all your efforts.
