Extremely sad news :(.

The loader text for "Where's my Willy?" was probably the first time that I considered that thing called "Design" for demos.
is 73 Falcon patched atari games enough ? ^^

We're all in our 50/60s now, but that is no age to go.

Condolances to his family.

Obviously very sad news... . As a teenager learning 68k and demo coding, Decade Demos was brain-blasting for me! Finally a demo with different music than good old Madmax! Awesome fullscreen code! And I still remind the Reset screen by Phantom! Decade demo reset screen have been a great source of inspiration for me back in time.

My condolences to family and friends

Very sorry for your loss. The Decade Demo was one of my favourite ST demos. So much creativity on display. RIP Phantom.

Ah man, that sucks :/

Decade reset screen is still my go-to to just have on a loop.

I was in the same room when at the Bradford party, but I wasn't cool enough to say hello to the E.I. guys , so I just fanboyed from a distance :)

I’ve just seen Leonard’s post on X saying RIP Phantom, that’s such sad news. 😞 The Decade Demo was awesome, one of the many demos I watched MANY times. I was into BBS’s at the time and called into Master’s Electronic Images BBS (I guess I got the number from a demo?) and I think Master put me in touch with Phantom as I was looking for some tips on 3D coding (or perhaps just demos in general, I forget!). He gave me some source code for rotating vector balls, I think, and it was the first time I saw self modifying code. Always signed off ‘Uncle Phanty’. It’s weird how these things stick with you, that must have been 30 years ago or more…

For those who may not have seen it, Leonard released this gorgeous tribute to the Decade Demo reset screen/The Phantom at Sillyventure this weekend. It's full overscan :)

I want to thank everyone for their kind words.

To commence a new era, I have opened a YouTube channel @AudioKandy where our passion for music will continue to be expressed.

Jose and I spend decades VJ'ing in club nights, an extension to our creative talent in particular for a night called Digital City that actually ended winning an award for Best Club Night by The Times back in 2010 or so.

Music for me has been a big part of my life since the early 2000’s as an original raver. Later evolved DJ skills and together over time we made countless have a great time.

I created a commemorative mix and will continue to produce more mixes overtime to publish on YouTube that will hopefully make your mind boogie, we’re a bit older and the flesh gives up a bit overtime. I love introducing people to new music so tracks I find will also will be published individually to introduce you to new music.

To kick things off I recommend you listen to these first as a warmup to the main mix number 003.

In tradition to breaking new ground I’m also duplicating these mixes to an ad free blockchain based Youtube alternate called Odysee.com, this will be a default platform along with YT that will lead in releases, ie, released on Odysee first and generally three days later on YT.

This brings me to another topic, a knowledge offering, if you are an android user, find an app called GrayJay, it’s a video aggregator, rss for video platforms, with functionality that blocks ads on YT, allows windowed view and background play whilst the screen is off. After install it looks a bit baron, go to sources, bottom right, head towards adding a source by browsing online option, add YT, then go into the plugin, half way down there’s an option to login into account to connect it, it will jump to selecting your channel. From then on visit home menu and see your YT environment.

I'm really sorry to hear of this. I'd like to know a bit more about who he was as a person to be honest - a real life kind of portrait. Like many here, I remember the Decade demo from the early nineties very fondly - it was such a ground breaking production, perfectly blending the "sound and graphics" experience or synergy.
