NotatorSL 3.21 Address Error

Post by grauskala »

When I load NotatorSL 3.21 in Hatari 2.5 (MacOS), I get the "detected double bus/address error" message during the loading process.
Zippy's Notator dongle (.pld-file?) is loaded as cartridge ROM.
I'm using the gotek-specific .st floppy image for loading Notator uploaded on this forum, as I haven't found a way to make one myself with MacOS.
I get the error while loading under different TOS, CPU and RAM configurations of the ST system.
When maxing out CPU to 8 Mhz and above and RAM to 14MB on the MegaSTE system, no error message appears but the Notator loading screen remains indefinitely.
Loading Notator without the dongle results in the same bug (error message/loading screen). Could this be an indication that the dongle is not set up correctly? I'm loading the .pld file as the cartridge ROM, is that correct?

Thanks for any advice or suggestions, I'm fairly new to this!
Cheers

Have you seen anything that suggests the dongle file works like this? I thought that it wouldn't work, as the dongle is not just a block of memory, it actually does processing.

A dongle dump of the contents is not enough, you would need actual software to emulate the dongle's response/behaviour, in the way that someone did for Cubase - this hasn't happened yet. In short, what you are trying to do won't work.
