The Freemint 'distribution' includes the 'fscheck.sh' script in /bin. But it's missing the 'grep' executable for it to actually do anything (since it greps through /etc/fstab to figure out which partitions it should run a filesystem check on.'
Granted, I think it also is missing e2fsck to actually do a file system check if you are using ext2 partitions...
Freemint includes fscheck.sh but is missing grep and others.

Re: Freemint includes fscheck.sh but is missing grep and others.
Well, yes. The biggest issue here is that the bootable zip isn't meant being a distro. It's just a snapshot which is able to boot into clean (default) state.
I really wish somebody will get pissed enough and create something like https://subsole.org/st_mint but for higher end machines (https://sites.google.com/site/beebox68k ... authuser=0 would be really a good base for such work ;)).

Probe House Software has instructions on how to setup Mint and includes links to RPMS and and a list that tells you which ones to install in what order to get a basic RPM based environment setup.
You can also just grab the RPMS and rip out the bits you want.

Re: Freemint includes fscheck.sh but is missing grep and others.
Ha, it used to be EasyMint. And yeah, that is why I put it as 'distribution' since it is a minimal base. I may be getting irritated enough at some point to do a ct60/supervidel setup. Currently trying to figure out if CosmosEx with a SCSI SD card needs to be byteswapped or if I can use that as an easily read drive between PC / Falcon, since that would be the easiest way to transfer stuff over (swear I had it working at one point...)mikro wrote: Thu Apr 18, 2024 7:46 am Well, yes. I didn't need to byte swap my SCSI partitions using a BlueSCSI 2

Byteswapping is only needed when you attach something to the IDE port, and only if the hardware doesn't already do it.
Re: Freemint includes fscheck.sh but is missing grep and others.
Yeah, I couldn't get the hard drive portion to boot on the CosmosEx for some reason, I still need to find time to figure that out. I think I knew that about the IDE port, but it had been ages since I had played with my Falcon.ThorstenOtto wrote: Sun Jun 23, 2024 2:59 am Byteswapping is only needed when you attach something to the IDE port, and only if the hardware doesn't already do it.
