Moon Speeder Atari Falcon

Post by MacFalcon »

Hi,

I am looking for moonspeeder (compo software) for the Falcon. I have the originak disks here, but only one is readable :( I am aware that there is moongames ;)

Would be great if anyone could help me out.

Best regards,

Chris

It took me a few days, but I could restore all 5 disks, except the 3rd one. On this the file "track06.map" is missing/defective.

The file format seems to be different from moongames. The map file in moongames is much smaller.

Would be great if anyone could provide the file for me.

Best regards,

Chris

Can you provide dumps of the disks you have? Even the faulty disk 3. Thanks.

If you have a GreaseWeasel you could dump flux images and perhaps someone can show you where on disk 3 to clean?

I've looked everywhere on the net. I can't find anything other than the two demos both of which do not have track06.map (just track01.map)

I'm sure I have the original discs somewhere in stock. I will try to find them.

Hope this is the right one for you. I found it on Marcer's game DVD

Thank you so much :) Not at home at the moment, but I will try asap.

I will upload the disks (no images, but file copies) when they are complete.

Finally managed to restore the disks. Game is now preserved for future generartions!

Here is moonspeeder: https://drive.google.com/file/d/10QKN40 ... drive_link

As this is a freeware game now (moongames), I think it´s "free". If it is not, drop me a line and I will remove it.

Thank you,

@MacFalcon: it requires access confirmation.

Btw, is this dump somehow different from the one on Marcer's DVD? Or did you make a full floppy dump in the end?

Access should now work for everyone.

As I don't have Macer's DVD I don't know. Where could I get this?

Here's an anecdote about the game:
one of the master disks used to make all the copies sold on the market was defective!
Composcan France didn't notice the problem...
As a result, the game's intro doesn't work, displaying a mess of pixels instead of the game's name (like in MoonGames)...
You should contact Gilles Audoly, who is the only one who probably has a 100% working version!

Note that the protection is a real pain in the ass!
It screws up the datas of nvram if you forget to put floppy disk 1 in the drive, or if you have a defective copy...
