Does anyone else use the Midi inputs on the SMPII with Cubase Audio Falcon? I don't see any options in CAF to assign any other midi input except the one that is on the Falcon. I can assign the outputs of the SMPII just fine.
I am wanting to use CAF together with the Hotz midi translator running on a Stacy. I'll probably end up using a midi merge box as shown in the Hotz instructions, but I wanted to see if I could get things to work without adding the merge box. The Hotz software and the documentation are the least intuitive that I have ever worked with, but I'm hoping that I am going to figure it all out! It is certainly a challenge for my brain.

Re: SMPII Midi Inputs
I do use MIDI mergers as well as the MIDI ins on my SMP II, I can't remember what I have connected to those ins off the top of my head, however like the MIDEX..., once the driver is activated under MROS, they should just be seen as additional inputs which you can activate / deactivate under Options > MIDI Set Up (Record From). There is no assignment, as they would work similar to that of a MIDI merge, but you should be able to activate / deactivate them.

Re: SMPII Midi Inputs
I'm wondering if I am using the wrong driver. The driver I'm using says SMP24. It has worked just fine for outputs though.
I just received a JL Cooper MSB Rev 2 midi merge/switch box, and I should able to route about anything with it. The Hotz software needs some filtering active as well. Not sure I'll ever get things set up so that I can actually use it (the way I want to), but it is fun trying!

Re: SMPII Midi Inputs
Setting up is part of the fun for me too! It is possible it is an old driver, there is not much documentation with MROS driver info, version control and the like. I try and stick to the version of the driver which was supplied with the MROS version, otherwise drivers could be being used out of context. However the SMP driver versions are here should you not have them and want to play, they are bundled together (SMP Drivers for Cubase) and so are out of MROS context, but useful to test out: https://docs.dev-docs.org/

Re: SMPII Midi Inputs
As Atari74user said you should be able to activate or deactivate inputs from the MIDI Setup Options. The idea behind the absence of input options in the inspector is that nothing is going to be recorded from an input unless you are playing that keyboard etc. Obviously, you can isolate an input that is used for synchronization under the sync options but if you are in fact trying to record multiple MIDI input devices at the same time you probably want to use the Multirecord Option, as that's exactly what Input Split is for. This will open up a new lane in the Track List for you. Now while the SMP II is controlled via Cubase I would still recommend you get a copy of the SMP editor just in case you need to change any parameters that are not accessible from Cubase.
