Game maps

Post by AtariCrypt »

Are any Cybernoid fans out there??

I've (tried my best!) to fully map the first Cybernoid game. I know it's probably something that's been done a zillion times for other platforms but I wanted to do the Atari ST game - cos it's superb and I love it. I did the first three levels fine (trainer enabled of course!) but the fourth was too much. There's one killer screen that I couldn't do!! I tried and tried and came close to throwing the ST out my window!

Anyhow, downloads are still available but I'll have to remove soon and decide a better way to share as I'm running out of space with everything else that I have stored.... So grab the maps if you're interested and I hope you like 'em?

More ST game maps are in the pipeline ;)

Cheers all and all the beST for 2023 .... Steve

Nice work! Yes, there are many games that need maps, Cybernoid being an obvious one.

Did you try out the HAGA conversion I did of Peter's hdd adaptation? You can press "/" on the numpad during play to make save states. This can be helpful with games like this.

Thanks :)
Oh yeah I love PP's adapted games! And I used the D-Bug version within Hatari so I tended to use the save/restore option back then for this game. (all links incl).

I've updated with maps for the levels of Titus' Prehistorik https://ataricrypt.blogspot.com/2023/01 ... torik.html
Really enjoyed replaying this one again. Not perfect and the boss levels suck - but overall a fun platformer :)

I've finished mapping Frankenstein - one of the most enjoyable platformers I've ever played tbh.

Mapping is tough, so respect to you for this. Great job.

A while back (probably around 15 years ago now - yikes!), I mapped the platform levels (1 and 5) of Batman the Movie.
Never again!

You can still see one of the maps via the wayback machine. I maybe uploaded them both here somewhere too.

It's tough when you don't have the right tool. The best mapping tool is Maptapper.

I've tried my best to fully map the AtariVenture called Uninvited. Still some areas I've yet to discover (the grey squares).
I've attached here, and Atari Legend will have a copy also :)
Updated this page for a laugh too: https://ataricrypt.blogspot.com/2023/01 ... rough.html

Nice [smilie=greencolorz4_pdt_12.gif]
Not seen this one in a while, very "Gods" looking graphics :ehum:
Anyone know of a trained version?
Not that I know of a trained version, but...
Trained in what way? Lives, level skipping or both?

As for the cheat, I'm simply thinking inf lives for that first Nostram. Like most games, I need many/many/many extra lives lol

Nice!
Out of interest, how long does it take you to complete the mapping via playing the games?

It took me a while as it's ugly STOS compiled code, but...
I've hacked it for infinite lives (Quickly tested i.e. died 10 times and then gave up), let me know if it fails to work.
I hope this helps!

thx! Depends on the game and of course my free time.. I suppose this one was several hours but over the course of several weeks. I've got some more maps 70/80% complete but they're tough ones. We'll see :)

Thanks for these maps!

Really used to review ZX Spectrum map versions,
but 16 bits counterparts are not common
