atari-forum.com & insecure (http) content in Google Chrome

Post by mikro »

While reading viewtopic.php?t=41654 I have yet again bumped into the infamous problem with not showing images. It is due to Google's (too strict, imho) mixed content policy.

But today I have decided to actually read the article ;) and really, you can enable it for given sites from the Site settings! So click on the gray lock, choose Site settings and look for:
allow.png
It was set to "blocked" by default in my case.

I wonder why it took me at least a year to discover. ;)

I have been using Chrome all the while and never even seen this "Insecure content" before.
I wonder if it is default setting in specific countries or some other reasons.

Does it happens on EDGE ?

Edit: ah... i just realised it is using https on this website, so that's why it's not insecure.

Wow, thanks mikro - I actually only just noticed this issue recently and made a note that I needed to fix it. Your post/answer worked perfectly.

No, this is exactly the source of the problem -- as AF is https:// its supposed to be also linking with https content what isn't the case in the aforementioned thread.

Btw, in long term, it is really a bad idea to link pictures like that... in a year those links will be dead and all posts useless. Better upload them directly into AF site.

Oh, you mean links to contents outside that are not https.
I guess I would have automatically click YES when asked, just like any other users without really reading what it is asking.
Could have asked me ages ago as I used Chrome since the beginning....
