FIXED - updated to ver 52 jedecs and WORKING!!!

YES - I am at least back to a stable PAK68/3 booting every time on its own, and working SUPER well - along with secondary cache!!

So .. I know how I broke it.. what I did not know then.. but do now.. is I had 5 GAL20V8(s) BUT 3 were Bs and 2 were A's and I cannot program them on the same profile on a TL866cs .. even though it works and verifies.. I needed to do them each on their own profile. The GALS I have had been written directly on them with a white marker.. so I did not see any differences.. I looked at each chip under a magnifying lense.. and had a hunch so last night reprogrammed them all.. and today.. everything working!!

I have heard this name several times, but a google search pulls up nothing. Is there any links to it frank?

PAK is good.. so I am now putting the pupla/2 and the Lightning and cloudy back in.. will test with that. Then we see about the FRAK/2

Unrelated, but with what you have learned, figured payment :D

Purchased faster GALS and EPROM for the Falcon.
Have an old BP Microsystems EPROM programmer, EP-1.

Think the library supports the bus GALS (forget the ID now), and have an adapter for the TOS ROM, but haven't looked to see if it's supported.

Also have the Maxon GAL programmer with Atari softs.
16V8 and 20V8.

But doubt I can do the TOS ROM with what I have.

Want to make a ROM card interface with one MagiC, MultiTos and modified 4.04.

Think there's enough space to actually put it all on one ROM, but would have no idea how to set pointers that way. Switch is easier.

Too much now in the room to add more.
USB for the CT's, SV, EtherNat.
Lattice USB for the Milan....

oh the drystone tests? naaa want to get Kronos.. better to work it in. Now I am waiting on direction from Holger, he has very graciously decided to provide me with direction as to mods I will need to do to both the PAK and the FRAK to get the frak/2 I have (which seems to be an OLDER version he says) working together.

Well I needed to get under U20 to do a trace cut.. not fun.. not easy with the tiny size of the holes on this board..

Heed the warning.. find a way without desoldering if you can.

Considering my Floppy/DMA issues with the PAK installed I was reading over the PAK manual again when I saw this suggestion:
asci_buffering.png
Anyone have one of these "buffer boards΅ it mentions?

Ah could you send me a picture of it? I'm thinking I need to build one of these buffer boards if possible.

You need a Bufferbaord or do it a simple cpu adapter?

Thanks for the pictures, but I actually have a PuPla/2 buffer board. The buffer board I am looking for is the one to buffer the ACSI signals.

Hi,

I always thought the PuPla or PuSTE were the only buffer boards supposed to fix problems related to the PAK68's...

Is there something else ?

Started to do a ACSI buffer like MSTE or Atari TT have it. It will place over the Blitter socket on a Mega ST Board because I have a HD Modul over the Floppy Chip so there is no room. My Atari Mega ST with PAK/FRAK/PUPLA/PANTHER has no problem over the ACSI Port with a ICD Hostadapter and a 9GB SCSI Drive or Floppy ...

The original MW Electronic DMA Buffer has only a single 74xx245 to drive only the data lines D0-D7 to the DMA Port and the WD1772 I think. Has anyone good pictures or the schematics?

Yes, the DMA buffer is the one I need. Where would the schematics have been? Were they publicly available?
