All that tech talk mumbo jumbo quickly becomes irrelevant once you begin actually implementing graphics/sounds/etc. and only then will you see how the performance is.calimero wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 6:14 pmIs there any “technical” talk about bits, speed and mipsmarss wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 9:39 am An informative thread about an enhanced version of doom on Jaguar... https://atariage.com/forums/topic/29564 ... /#commentsin thread?

Swapd0's Blog may be the closest you'll get and he's actively still doing stuff for the Jag.calimero wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 10:42 pm+1Mindthreat wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 10:01 pmAll that tech talk mumbo jumbo quickly becomes irrelevant once you begin actually implementing graphics/sounds/etc. and only then will you see how the performance is.
Is there any blog to recommend with first hand impression while implementing the stuff?![]()
Ha, brings up the point, would be cool to have a demo scene for the Jag. I mean some of the demo coders are amazing at finding secrets of the hardware and getting weird things to work. Not that any of that tends to help in making games.Mindthreat wrote: ↑Mon Nov 16, 2020 1:30 amSwapd0's Blog may be the closest you'll get and he's actively still doing stuff for the Jag.calimero wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 10:42 pm+1Mindthreat wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 10:01 pm

I'm working on a Jag demo now but am almost done, though I should give a little write up I suppose but feel the demo will do a better job than trying to put it into words.
Highly recommended!mrbombermillzy wrote: ↑Mon Nov 16, 2020 10:17 am Theres always Raptor Basic/API, if you dont feel like learning the Jaguar system fully and want to make games/demos.
That was you?Mindthreat wrote: ↑Mon Nov 16, 2020 4:14 pm My CRT recording looks bad but this is one of my early demos with it (you can download the ROM and run it on a skunk from the description link as well): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRnRFtvBZmg
Thanks, appreciate the kind words.mrbombermillzy wrote: ↑Mon Nov 16, 2020 7:21 pmThat was you?Mindthreat wrote: ↑Mon Nov 16, 2020 4:14 pm My CRT recording looks bad but this is one of my early demos with it (you can download the ROM and run it on a skunk from the description link as well): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRnRFtvBZmg
Well, congrats. I remember seeing that and thinking it was one of the best Jag demos so far! Good job!![]()
Yeah, both SD and Skunk will work just fine and is kind of required since it's a 6MB ROM.mrbombermillzy wrote: ↑Wed Nov 18, 2020 7:36 pm Looking forwards to it.
Will it be usable from an SD card on RetroHQ/Saints Jag cart?
