Here is the English version of Kobold 3.51 I just hacked together using bits from EN 3.5 and DE 3.51. Working on Correct 1.3 next.

I did translate it too some time ago, along with all the utilities that came with the german version and the text files.
Since I don't speak german, I used Google Translate then tried to put the sentences back to something that actually means something, then got bored. So most of the text files may seem awkward. But it is 100% translated yet mostly untested. Use it as you wish.

I was done with Correct and ended with a new-found respect for translators. I was NOT looking forward to doing the others although it's kinda fun... until it becomes a chore. So glad I don't have to do it.

I ran a comparison with your Kobold version with mine. I just took the "official" translation and slapped it on the update. 15 minute job. I was surprised by your version. Much better! Reads better and seems to be more complete. Good job.

It's funny to compare Correct to see what we came up. We seem to have the same approach. I don't know any German. I used Bing translate as I found it more accurate. Only gripe I have is you use "Fix" in the first action. I thought "Correct errors" was more fitting in this case but fix would've been better otherwise.

So, what else are you hiding?

Using github is not a good idea i think. a) because the status of some of the software is still unclear and b) because github might be a bit upset if you checkin large binary files there instead of open source programs.

There's always the Wiki.

The wiki is not something I'd like to dedicate any effort to as it was offline for so long that I can't trust it. It's a shame. Wiki should be something you can count on and collaborate on. If there's a fear that all that work will be wasted the next time it goes offline, it kinda defeats the purpose of having a Wiki.

But yes, as a concept, a wiki would be fine. Maybe on another platform.

u just need a page to point to stuff on dropbox.
So just do what Essential Software List did.
Or host your own page so that u know it will be reliably always up unlike the wiki.
I mentioned wiki because u can edit it any day all day long ( as long as it is up )

Well I have my own domain on Gsuite and a static IP for my internet, which is partly mapped to my domain for NAS access outside. I have software listed on my website but it lacks collaboration, which I think is crucial.

Plenty of open source Wikis out there. Could get a Linode account or something and set one up too.
On that note, it'd be awesome to have a sister wiki that handles Past, Present and Future hardware projects as well, rather than having them scattered all over the forum.

For example, currently CT60e is available to buy. SV is a future and past one.
So for Software and Hardware, I think it'd definitely help out, though that means each project would need a person maintaining it, then linked to the main wiki.

I've personally played around a bit with wiki.js recently - seems pretty easy to use but can also be configured to store all content in git, having that in a public repo would make it easy to stand up new instances should one go down.

Just in case someone wants to translate the hypertext as well: here is an archive with the recompiled german version. There are 3 different version of the text file, for different encodings (atarist, iso8859-1 and utf-8). The atari st version should be compilable by original hcp from ST-Guide, for the others you can use the compiler from my site

It is good to have another of Holger's nice apps available.

*Edit* Re-uploaded file with slight change. I changed the picture of the search box in the hypertext from German to English for clarity.

**Edit 2** And here is the English hypertext in pdf format for those that would prefer it. (the additional corrections not added yet)
