Yeah the core of this forum has shifted over the years. Not much interest in the ‘scene’ - both flavours : demo and games. Hence lack of feedback with new stuff, Nowadays the activity concerns Mist stuff , each to their own, but no interest whatsoever for me.

yeah, it's a shame the forum seems to have lost it's demoscene contingent :/
Re: Veeeery nice productions of 2019
after counting fpga posts, I'm afraid it will lost Atari soul in the near future

I would contribute more to posts and threads and stuff, but there is not that much I can contribute to. There are no lengthy discussions about democoding or related subjects that I can participate in. So usually Im just lurking...
Re: Veeeery nice productions of 2019
Oh and thanks for the free PR for our SMFX demos

This was subject for a discussion earlier this year. See here for a way to hide the MiST/MiSTer stuff. I have used this for months now.Grazey / PHF wrote:Nowadays the activity concerns Mist stuff , each to their own, but no interest whatsoever for me.

I wish more sceners would post stuff like this. That's something I would definitely be interested in. This writeup alone is responsible for me shifting my interest (temporarily I guess) from Atari to this obscure 8-bit.wietze wrote:I would contribute more to posts and threads and stuff, but there is not that much I can contribute to. Re: Veeeery nice productions of 2019
I only speak for my self, but it could be how some people think.
I probably will never buy an FPGA computer as the original is much more fun to play with.
As far as producing demos: There is some great stuff out there, but I stopped looking at them years ago. I treat them like Art that you go to a museum see. As you know, most people do not know how to appreciate Art. I actually do, but would rather spend my time with programs that are not made for just looking at. Now, if you were to take that Art and make something more useful out of it, then you will have my attention.
Sorry to let you down, but this could be why no one responds to such things any more.

We tend to do a writeup once in a while, as can be found on http://smfx.st/ (albeit some time ago)joska wrote:I wish more sceners would post stuff like this. Other than doing our demoscening stuff, Im not sure how those posts relate to this forum. Possibly people could share some more of there Atari interest things to get people more involved, or something?
Re: Veeeery nice productions of 2019
Wow! Those two SMFX demos are amazing, thanks for sharing

Re: Veeeery nice productions of 2019
Love demo's, btw. Really like the ones that I can get away from the so-called
"real" world with, and zen out.
Many thanks to the people/groups who keep putting out these high quality
productions for the rest of us mere mortals to enjoy.
Salute!

Re: Veeeery nice productions of 2019
Man, that makes me think. Because I'm almost exclusively posting in the MiST section these days but I'm super interested in seeing new scene/games/demo stuff.Grazey / PHF wrote:Hence lack of feedback with new stuff, Nowadays the activity concerns Mist stuff , each to their own, but no interest whatsoever for me.
I've had a couple of ideas in my head for ST related projects for a while, but no time to do anything with them. I see the MiST as a way I'll still be able to in a few years when I have some spare time again.
Anyhow, I'm not doing anything here other than thinking out loud and making a mental note to keep up with other parts of the forum more.
