Re: Atari ST essential software (The List)
Can STing be added to this list please? It seems the official source of this has disappeared while no one was looking.
STE: Desktopper case, IDE interface, UltraSatan (8GB + 512Mb) + HXC floppy emulator. Plus some STE's/STFM's
Re: Atari ST essential software (The List)
I don't see a download for STing on Roger's site, only a STing-compatible Ethernet driver.

Re: Atari ST essential software (The List)
I already have a copy of the latest version (1.26) if someone wants a copy to add to the 'List'

Re: Atari ST essential software (The List)
Yes - like most of the software included on the List, it is available via Google searches.
My request is simply to add it to the list along with all the other useful software so that it is all contained in one convenient place... Does it have to be this hard??

Re: Atari ST essential software (The List)
1) In an earlier post a FTP-server is mentionned. How do I get access to that server ? Couldn't find anything, but maybe I overlooked ! I would like to avoid having to download file by file via the browser.
2) Does someone know about an Atari-ST (PDF) documentation archive ? Containing software user manuals a.s.o. I have a collection of (copies of) user manual /documentation which I want to replace by electronic versions and throw away the copies. The first ones I'm looking after (and can't find) is the dbMan user manual rev 1.1 and K-Spread

I'm sat here listen to tunes while I read through a document in Geneva...
Soooo I figured here are two programs might be worth adding to the list?
KrapSNDH (http://sndh.atari.org/players.php)
- I know SND Player is already on the list of course but KrapSNDH is so quick and simple.. just a thought! : )
Revenge Document Displayer v3 (http://www.atarimania.com/utility-atari ... 29691.html)
- this is so fast and effective. Great program!

Maybe just a matter of taste, but how can Ghostlink not be in the list?
This is probably the tool I used the most before getting HDDriver and SaTanDisk.

Re: Atari ST essential software (The List)
bigdos is still missing in this list! http://rainer-seitel.onlinehome.de/bigdos.html
For me this is an absolute "must have installed" extension for plain TOS. Note that it should be placed as the last file in boot order.

Hi Steve, just reading the Essential Development Tools and see what it says "Yngwie Malmsteen CDs": it is a quality guarantee of that software.
Regards.

Is there an Everest serial floating around? I like it as a text editor but the shareware prompt is annoying.

Re: Atari ST essential software (The List)
Seeing the pitiful state of the repository (no history, no changes from Dirk and Gerhard) I've taken the liberty to convert the former SVN repository into proper branches, history and people identities. Looks much nicer now (thanks to Arno for accepting my work as his official repository!).paulwratt wrote:Thing desktop new (source code) home page:

Under Disk Tools on the site, the URL for "Image Runner" is linking to an old version, almost 12 years since the updated v1.02 was released by Pera... I mean, c'mon; I've been linking to Floppy Image (the actual name of the app) in my sig for almost that long.

There's also Phillip Lang's version 2(.3) of Magic Shadow Archiver. Version 1 is listed on the website. Should I be e-mailing datavase?

The comment of HSMODEM reads: "does display the HYP/REF format documents included with many Atari programs" (a copy of the line above it)
