Metacomco assembler & Pascal
Hello,
I bought the manuals and license cards for Metacomco Assembler and Pascal off ebay just recently but don't the software.
Anyone know where I can get the disks? Metacombo seems to have gone long ago.
Thanks

I don't know where to get the disks but there is some information here:
https://www.atarimagazines.com/startv1n ... blers.html
https://www.atariuptodate.de/en/1091/me ... -assembler
There is also some information on the Sinclair QL version here:
https://www.sinclairuser.com/040/qlsoft.htm
There is also an Amiga version of the assembler. In the worst case, could that be disassembled on the Amiga and reassembled on the ST?
Metacomco, sometimes styled MetaComCo (MCC), bought the rights to that 68000 assembler from Tripos so there may be an earlier version available somewhere.

Re: Metacomco assembler & Pascal
Hi
Thanks for the links, the first one is really interesting but alas no software. I'm sure I read somewhere that MetaComCo
was still on the go but I cannot find any trace.
Sorry for the late reply but I never get notifications from this site, even if
I select the notification when posting.
Cheers

Re: Metacomco assembler & Pascal
I believe I had an original copy of the assembler back at the day. IIRC it was one of the first third party assemblers available. And I think it was also the predecessor of Lattice?

Re: Metacomco assembler & Pascal
I own the original mcc assembler ,,
if I can remember the cover has a person etched using a keyboard ? does this sound correct?
I do think paskud has both programs for download , without manuals unfortunitly

Re: Metacomco assembler & Pascal
Look at that, looks familiar.Got the box and whole lot way back.(big video style box for the thing)
Was sort of wondering if you meant the Macro assembler or not.
Can check for the disks how they are(have back ups aswell) and pop them up if they are ok.
However will take a while since my machine is on the workbench at the moment and will be going away over the weekend.

Re: Metacomco assembler & Pascal
So,got around and checked the disks..(falcy still on the work-bench but remembered have a spare network board)
Seem to be ok.MSA:ed them ,dont think that they have any funny protection or stuff like that.
Actually MSA:ed the old originals, dang I like DD format when used properly, not a single bad sector, hehe.

Re: Metacomco assembler & Pascal
Thanks neanderthal. Interesting to see it at last. An assembler program written as a TTP. That would be a bit hard to use.

Re: Metacomco assembler & Pascal
Well,we have gen.ttp (devpac) as far as I know the gemish thing is really a way to parse stuff into it..Making stuff easier..mlynn1974 wrote:An assembler program written as a TTP.
Had to use gen.ttp straight off for a while since for some reason the combo of mint 1.15 and ext2 didn't work as expected.
(a old easymint mint install)
When bobbed the whole install to a minix partition, the thing started to work again.

Re: Metacomco assembler & Pascal
Version 12.0, that's a lot of bug fixes or they used firefox version scheme.
However, still an interesting find.
