A couple more stos questions?

Post by Nev (Orbital Software) »

Can anyone tell me the difference between the 'blit' & 'm blit' commands? Which is faster? And can anyone give me a breakdown of the syntax & variables?

I found some old sources of mine which seem to use both commands?

Also has anyone got a link to the 'Misty', 'Control', 'MissingLink' extentions for the interpreter & compiler?

Also I have STOS v2.6. I only have compiler v2.4. Has anyone got a link to a stos compiler upgrade?

Help is much appriciated. Thanks in advance.

:D

Peace...

This might be of some use to you, I don't know; I leeched it for nostalgia : )
m blit is apparently a merged copy that takes three times longer. I never had the extentions so I can't help you, sorry : )

(My firewall doesn't seem to let me upload attachments today; I got it from here)

Hi Nev,

The "M" in mblit stands for merge. The Blit command is faster as it screen copys a image or a square image block along with any background behind it. The M Blit command was used to "merge" an image with a transparent background so it was good for sprite animation.

Hope this helps

You could copy one or more bitplanes by using an optional parameter in the command.
