Atari BASIC games and Atari BASIC books pdf
Hello,
A friend is going to mail me for free an Atari 1040Ste and until I get it I am craving for one thing. A site that list all or competition of the latest Atari made exclusively in BASIC up to and including you can see the source code of the game. Can someone help me find a resource that shows all the Atari games ever made in BASIC for Atari up to and including if possible a resource of books in pdf that have hundreds of games written in BASIC that I can type it back into Atari and compile/run the game in BASIC?
I am having fetish for games written in BASIC for some reason....if anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.

Afaik there really is no such resource.
Some books about coding the atari, including basic, aswell as some sources, can be found here:
https://www.dev-docs.org/docs/
GFA Basic unofficial homepage (also check the links)
http://gfabasic.net/
Atari ST sources repository
https://github.com/ggnkua/Atari_ST_Sources
That should get you started...
Good luck!

For STOS Basic, go here:
https://www.exxoshost.co.uk/atari/STOS_index.htm
There's games with source code there, a documentation section now too with PDF's, etc. Also on that site, scroll down to "S" within the Extensions & Source section and you will find STOS Buddy, which again has more source code for games, plus lots of disk mag articles.
Depending on how you allocate your time, you will possibly find months worth of reading and exploring there.

There is also a faceVALUE/GFA course by Volker Janzen and Holger Herzog: http://www.stcarchiv.de/stc1997.php
Unfortunately, those "30 basic games" kind of books were uncommon in the 16 bit era - if such a book exists at all. I only know of one ST book about developing games, "Spiele selbst programmieren" (Develop games yourself). I've got a scan of the book, the disk is already on Dev-docs.
Other than that, there's plenty of source codes available. If you want to type in listings however, I could send you scans of GFA listings that haven't been typed in yet
