How do I help with scans & images?

I have a lot of games, around 500 (and quite a lot of really rare ones), and I would like to help with box scans and STX images. Are scans of pack ins also needed, like hats and pins etc? I need to know what resolution is the optimal for box/disk, manual scans, and where can I get a full list of ones that are actually needed???

Although any box scans are also welcome at AL when it's back online in the next day or so

I'm not speaking for the Guardians here, but all Pasti images you can manage to produce would be very welcome from my side!

I hope I can come up with a list of all the games that have been succesfully pastied (well, at least the ones I know of), so you could see which ones are missing?

The main thing I need to know is what to bother scanning and imaging. It seems that there is still not a centralized project or person(s) with which to gauge what needs to be done still. I just don't want to scan or image stuff for nothing, but I would appreciate some kind of a list to work with that would be useful for not doing stuff that has already been done, or is currently being worked on. I would like to see some of my stuff in GameBase, especially better quality boxes (and pack ins) and scans, some side scans showing the Atari ST specific labels/stickers, first release boxes to compliment some of the images that are budget release only, and that sort of thing.

I am the author of GamebaseST and also the project co-ordinator the of Guardians of the PaST preservation project. I do not know if you aware of the Guardians project but one of things we need are high quality scans to preserve ST software. These scans will be put on the Guardian website and also archived away for preservation. We require scans of front and back of boxes, spine, disks, and all documenation inside, in fact everything to make a digital copy of the packaging, its a lot of work but it needs to be done. There are preservation projects going on for all the major computers of the 80's but until recently there was nothing for the ST. We need all the help we can get since its a huge project that will take a considerable amount of time, but we believe its a worthwile one that will ultimitly safeguard the ST's software base for generations to come. All of the above has original disks and manuals except where noted, I am just going through my 800 disks that did not work on my old Atari drive but now work on my modified Sony MFP 920 floppy drive, it even formats up to 86 tracks, 11 sectors , and 2 sides, just modified it for use on my Aatari ST so a lot of games and utilities that I could not read before I suddenly can read and copy to new disks with no problem.
