Hi,
Please help if you can.
LED - what is the header number and location, polarity and which LEDs have people used and did they use a resistor as well?
Battery replacement - what is the header number and location, polarity and has anyone used a saft 3.6v battery as I have one of those?
Thanks.
Richard

Re: MSTE Rusty LED and battery
Hi, Richard a CR 2032 3V Battery will also do this job very well. Mine is working since August last year.
Polarity you can find out very easy. There is no resistor necessary
If LED is burning its ok , if not change polarity. No fear LED will not die.
All connections should be near by the controller on the right side, i think.
Here you can find the circuits of the Mega STE

Re: MSTE Rusty LED and battery
Hi,
I had the same problem on my MSTE, the hard disk LED had rusted away, along the the stell bracket and the mounting Gromlet had fell apart.
So I removed the rust, painted the hard disk bracket with anti rust paint, fitted a new Gromlet and a new LED.
The LED 3mm Dia came from an old HP server, which Electric Blue in colour, makes the hard disk access light very bright.
I am wondering whether to change the power LED to Blue.
