NetUSBee USB storage driver download
Attached is a USB mass storage driver for the NetUSBee cartridge, for Atari ST/TT/Falcon running under TOS or EmuTOS.
You can freely use it and distribute it. It is released under the GPL licence. No warranty. No support. It worked well for the vast majority of my beta testers. Don't use it to store important data on USB drives until you know it works well for you.
I'm interested to see if it works for you, to know about any general problems. Specific questions can probably be answered by other users on this forum.
Many authors made this possible, I only ported it to TOS and made it stable. In January this year, after 10 years of seeing my NetUSBee USB port unused, while very satisfied with its networking, I decided it was time to look into it. That's when I found the great work already accomplished on Freemint.
Enjoy,
Claude

Re: NetUSBee USB storage driver download
With my Atari Mega STE it works well with two FAT16 USB Sticks and BigDOS. A USB Cardreader with a SD Card in it works not.

Thanks so much for this. Will try it this weekend!
Re: NetUSBee USB storage driver download
Seems to work fine on my Falcon (TOS 4.04) and my Mega (TOS 1.04), but crashes on boot on my 1040STf (TOS 1.02).
On the 1040STf, after it loads USB.PRG, two bombs appear and from there nothing loads properly. Maybe that has something to do with TOS 1.02, but I'm not sure.
Regardless, thanks so much for this. One can never have enough storage options.

Fletch: try Seltos with e.g. 2.06 in 1.02 machines. Works here.

May be it has problems run from a AUTO Folder on a Floppy. From Harddisk there is no problem ...

Re: NetUSBee USB storage driver download
We need a user guide on how to prepare media for use with the Netusbee storage driver
anyone working on this?

Re: NetUSBee USB storage driver download
Thank you for the efford.
Is there need for an additional storage driver or is it self containded?
I made 4 FAT partitions of around 230MB with Mini Partition Tool on Windows and I cannot open them on the STe with TOS 1.62 (Boot from floppy). When I open the HDDRUTIL.APP from the demo driver it lists as XHDI drives all 4 partitions. With CBHD I see nothing, wich is XHDI aware for what I read.
Thanks anyway and if someone can push me in the right direction then a big thanks for that.

Re: NetUSBee USB storage driver download
O, one thing more. When booting and the storage driver loads, i get: 'Failed to get scsi drive cookie, no slots left, install a bigger cookie jar' .
Searched everywhere how to do that but can not find a way to make the cookie-jar bigger. Maybe this is the culprit of not opening the drives?
Thanks for any reply.

Re: NetUSBee USB storage driver download
That is an amazing tool, thank you very much!
I did not get it working yet on my STE/1.62de (even when using BMT TOS 2.06). The USB stick itself is recognized when booting and there is a partition, but I am not able to open it. HDDRUTIL is giving me the following information: "H: 0.0 MB, $06". The stick is FAT16 with one 256MB partition.

Use BigDOS for FAT16 USB Sticks ...

Re: NetUSBee USB storage driver download
I can recommend using a 256 MB MS-DOS partition (without Bigdos), works fine here with a 1 GB stick. Needs TOS >1.02 though. I use it with SELTOS and TOS2.06.

Re: NetUSBee USB storage driver download
It is self-contained and can work from a floppy without a hard disk or hard disk driver.Winner61 wrote:Thank you for the efford.

I only used HDDRIVER on the Atari to partition my USB keys with TOS/Windows compatibility. I don't specify a type in HDDRIVER, I leave the field blank. I hope someone can help you partition on Windows.
Re: NetUSBee USB storage driver download
When you use BigDOS, as suggested by Frank, there's no "special" partitioning required. Any USB stick with a MBR and a FAT16 partition will work. (I.e. no super-floppy-style USB sticks.)

You need JARxxx.PRG.Winner61 wrote:O, one thing more. When booting and the storage driver loads, i get: 'Failed to get scsi drive cookie, no slots left, install a bigger cookie jar' .

Re: NetUSBee USB storage driver download
Anyone with MagiC 6 and NetUSBee? I can send you a test version. The public version is not working with it.
Re: NetUSBee USB storage driver download
Finaly have it working. If the drivers complain about cookies use the attached zip. Also put in BigDos. First one in the autofolder must be cookie30.prg for example, read the txt for explanation. Then BigDos.prg and after that the Netusbee drivers in the right order.

Re: NetUSBee USB storage driver download
Hello,
I use the NetUSBee on my Falcon with magic 6, magicnet and umouse.
As mouse I use the USB MS "Wheel Mouse Optical 1.1A USB and PS/2 compatible", connected to the NetUSBee. This is the mouse with the red light.
This setup works fine. However I'm very interested to use your program with my Magic setup.
Mark
