Excellent! I hope that other software will follow this good example.

Happy to have the originals of these, but thank you very much Dan and Tenox. Haven't been to this site for a while, but looking nice, clean, and minimal, unlike some which seem to take a leaf out of the Homer Simpson school of web design!
Cheers!

Wonderful! Thank you!
Is this a one-time release or will Geneva and/or NeoDesk be further developed by Gribnif software?

Glad to see this done and I donated to the Gribnif page but I sure

Right you are. I had thought the icons were in the disk image, but they are not. And now I'm having trouble finding them. I'll have to look around some more.I see on the downloads section that you mention a "Neodesk Icon Disk". But I cannot find a link for that.
@mikro:
Thanks for catching that. I have updated the web page and the name of the ZIP file.EDIT: There's a typo on the download page, it's not NeoDesk 4.08 but 4.06 (yes, I've installed it already!
@Dal:
You can PM them to me here, if you like. I can't make any guarantees as to how long they will take to fix, though. This is purely a spare time endeavor.Ummmmm.... Is there somewhere we can report bugs?
@dhedberg:
My hope is to release occasional updates and, more importantly, the source code, so you can all compile your own and contribute fixes.Is this a one-time release or will Geneva and/or NeoDesk be further developed by Gribnif software?

I also just checked the PayPal account, and I have to give a big "Thank You!" to everyone who has donated. It really is appreciated.

I haven't used NeoDesk, just TeraDesk. Looking forward to giving NeoDesk a go here tonight.

Dan,
Thanks so much for releasing Neodesk 4 and Geneva. It definitely brings back nostalgic memories. I was happy to donate to the Gribnif "tip jar" for the memories that your products brought to me when I was an active ST user.

Thank you for making the petition. I think it was the tipping point for Dan convincing him to do it.Gaiyan wrote:This is awesome! Thanks Dan! I have now declared victory at change.org. Thanks to all who signed the petition. https://www.change.org/p/dan-wilga-open ... u/22377488

Re: Geneva and NeoDesk 4 Released as Donationware
I also would like to use Geneva on my Milan040. Does anybody know if the last version of Geneva that was released is runing on a 68040 CPU? I think that Geneva only supported the 68000 and 68030 CPU and not the 68040 or 68060 CPU?joska wrote:Great stuffGribnif wrote:My hope is to release occasional updates and, more importantly, the source code, so you can all compile your own and contribute fixes.There are some things I'd like to fix/change, one of them is to get it running on my Milan060. Are you still using PureC? Or have you switched to another compiler?

Re: Geneva and NeoDesk 4 Released as Donationware
I tried to install Geneva on Steem 3.9.4 but it reports "Geneva Disk B - Extras" is in an unrecognised format. Disk A is recognised.
Downloaded Disk B again in case it had been corrupted -- same result Steem can't recognise it or open it.
I don't have Hatari installed yet. Can anyone confirm that they have installed Geneva Disk B using Hatari on a PC?
Any chance anyone can unpack "Geneva Disk B - Extras.st" and upload the files here so I can put them on a disk created by Steem?

My HxC opened Disk B.
Re: Geneva and NeoDesk 4 Released as Donationware
Yes, I am still using Pure C. I don't think (trying to remember from 25 years ago) there is a lot of CPU-dependent code, though. If you send me stack traces/disassemblies surrounding crashes, I can also look into it.joska wrote:Great stuffGribnif wrote:My hope is to release occasional updates and, more importantly, the source code, so you can all compile your own and contribute fixes.There are some things I'd like to fix/change, one of them is to get it running on my Milan060. RE Geneva Master Disk B & Steem
"I was able to open it in Steem SSE 3.8.2
Thanks that was very helpful.
I was able to open the disk in Steem 3.8.1 so I installed Geneva on to a Gemdos drive under that emulator and also created a floppy disk under Steem & copied the files from disk B onto it.
Switched to Steem 3.9.4 and Geneva boots up just fine. Tried to access my newly created copy of Master Disk B and this version will recognise
this disk and will open some but not all of the folders on it. I guess there's a problem with this version of Steem.
