Best Electronics
Anyone else tried to get ahold of Brad at best over the last few months?
I have not had a response to emails since October.
Anyone?

Re: Best Electronics
I would suggest calling him. It’s possible your emails never rearched him. He appears to have an aggressive spam filter. As far as I know, he is still in business.
Re: Best Electronics
Ordered some stuff from him back in August (by email). He was quick to reply then. Hope he's OK.

Re: Best Electronics
It seems to be a good shop, but the design is horrible. Never had the courage to try and find something there

Re: Best Electronics
Well, I haven't seen a reply from him since February... (tried several times during the year, nothing).
Re: Best Electronics
I bought from them in mid-October. Replies were quick, and shipping was quick.
Re: Best Electronics
The web site is chaotic. You need to get his catalogue. It's a bible of Atari parts.Sturm wrote:It seems to be a good shop, but the design is horrible. Never had the courage to try and find something there

Re: Best Electronics
Ordered some 8-bit games 10 days ago by phone, they arrived yesterday.
Brad is just amazing.

Re: Best Electronics
The shipping costs to Europe is the only reason why I don't shop there more regulary. The service is great though, great items, fast shipping.
Re: Best Electronics
Ha, I thought for sure the last items I ordered from him were going to cost a small fortune to ship. It was the Wizztronics Falcon rack mount kit, and some smaller things. I think from California to Utah was like 30 bucks.

Re: Best Electronics
I e-mailed him 31-12-2017 and got an answer the same day.
You MUST put the word Atari in your subject or the e-mail won't reach him....
Sadly....the price he wants for a piece of plastic is out of this Galaxy...

Re: Best Electronics
Oops,I have to correct this....the price he quoted was for a full HD kit, meaning plastic cover, metal support, HD controller PCB, mounting hardware, installation manual and software drivers....so not just the bare plastic....

Re: Best Electronics
Well, it seems I must have offended him or something. I tried my personal domain email, wrote the email in plain text (no html), had the Atari word in subject and still no reply.
I swear I only wanted to purchase stuff from him and asked him if they are available. :-/

Re: Best Electronics
I feel compelled to step in with further anecdotal evidence.
I emailed Best on Sunday evening with a simple one item order with the necessary information to complete it. He emailed me back to confirm a detail (which was my fault) and it was shipped by Monday evening. I'm pleased. I'm in the U.S., so it seems I'll get it before the end of the week.
He says that he responds to all Atari related inquiries and I believe him.

Re: Best Electronics
Oh, he’s been super quick and friendly in all my dealings with him. Very pleasant to do business with.

I guess I am in the same boat.. I have bought a number of things from him, and he has not responsed to me since OCT.

Re: Best Electronics
I purchased some equipment in November and he was very responsive and helpful. He might have taken some time off for the December holidays

Re: Best Electronics
Public plea for help: if anyone can mention my name to him (Miro Kropacek) and ask him whether he can check his mailbox, I would owe you one. Getting a reply like "Yeah, I hate him" is totally OK :), I just want to be sure it's not a technical issue.

Re: Best Electronics
He did say it was the very last one. I still need to find the time to put it in! Tried at one point, but I think it was sagging a bit in the middle (was trying to put it together on my bed like an idiot). Now that I have a proper 'retro' room, I'm going to try to find the time to set up all my systems, or at least a reasonable amount, I mean I have like 6 8bit computers.DarkLord wrote:Wait, what? Re: Best Electronics
The thing is a tank, built to last. I hope you were able to acquire some of the
adapter cables for it as well. Makes life so much easier.

Pretty sure I have everything I need, though I will be wiring up an ATX power supply to the power switch for the PicoPSU. Should be beautiful once it's all set upDarkLord wrote:The thing is a tank, built to last. I hope you were able to acquire some of the
