Would something like that even work for a IDE to SDcard adapter? Or for example, the Jaguar SD flash cart that SainT is working on?

It will work but not exactly what you want.
The photos are transferred to some kind of fileshare on a device.
It does not provide Internet access or anything, if it does, someone would have used it for retro computer years ago.
Well... may it can with loads of re-engineering but not as it is.

Yeah, I was looking into it. It seems to be more for copying things to / from it. So while it wouldn't mount up a NFS share that would be your drive for whatever retro device, you could use it to copy over test builds to systems without having to need it set up right next to your computer, which I could see being great for debugging things on real hardware.

I guess that's one use for it, only for copying files.
