Re: what is the ideal sample editor and best for AVR,SPL,WAV
The Stereo Master Editor was quite good.
also the internal editor in Protracker.
there are a few available some that run in Hi-res too. Can't recall names off hand.
As the STe replay for EPSS is 25Khz mostly (ST 11khz) you will find lots of samples that operate within those frequencies. Amiga 17Khz

Re: what is the ideal sample editor and best for AVR,SPL,WAV
i don't know if i follow,
a 17khz is compatible to the 11khz in st
?????
i do have a question for H.C. user of 525 ,,
if the sample rate of target being converted
is lower than the newily saved one ..
samples don't play in epss
is this valid????
therfore can't make a 44100hz sample from a 22500hz one?
i tried doesn't work often enough
why?
-->sample editors ->turbo synth and sound designer and avalon are my fav's
but for these wav-and spl and avr , i don't know much , because i am usally a hi rez st user
maestro too i should try
what edits spi voice sets from epss?

Re: what is the ideal sample editor and best for AVR,SPL,WAV
Hmmm....not tried any for a while and was about to say SoundLab but that only does up to 30KHz, although if v2 ever came out that promised up to 50KHz. Anyway Steinberg Avalon v2.1 and Microdeal Replay 16-bit version will handle 44.1KHz; there is also a Falcon 030 version of it called Clarity. Over at Atari Music Network there is a scanned pdf user manual for Avalon, along with the software itself.
Re: what is the ideal sample editor and best for AVR,SPL,WAV
Hi, somebody in one of the threads was looking for Sound Designer v1.5 i have it in STX format if that helps, just let me know.
PS C-lab Explorer 32 as well in same STX format.

Re: what is the ideal sample editor and best for AVR,SPL,WAV
I'm new to this forum so if somebody can explain how and where to upload these files then that would be great, both files are originals and i tested the STX against my legit versions all fine.
Btw these files have their protection still so MSA won't help i tried that but STX works fine (under index prot)
Anyway somebody on one of the threads (can't remember what one) was looking for these in non cracked format.
Hope it helps.

Re: what is the ideal sample editor and best for AVR,SPL,WAV
I usually upload them to a free share site like MediaFire etc and then copy and paste the download link for your file(s) here.
Someone will probably correct me if I am wrong but surely STX files only work with emulators? I would use the excellent Floppy Image program to make MSA images of your disks and upload those instead. http://atari.8bitchip.info/floimgd.php after installing this first http://atari.8bitchip.info/FdInstall.zip . You then simply click on the floppy icon to scan your disc and click on Floppy to Image button, and select .msa in the 'Save as type' box. All very quick and simple even for a total n00b.

Re: what is the ideal sample editor and best for AVR,SPL,WAV
When you make a new post, you can choose to upload an attachment. This is fine for small files such as ST programs.GorT wrote:I'm new to this forum so if somebody can explain how and where to upload these files then that would be great, both files are originals and i tested the STX against my legit versions all fine.
STX images do only work on emulators for the most part. If you need to convert it you could open it an emulator and then use MSA (or whatever you'd like) from within the emu.Shredder11 wrote:Someone will probably correct me if I am wrong but surely STX files only work with emulators? Thanks for providing these files.
How do I handle the resulting "STX" images correctly?
I wanted to get the containing files to the hard drive of my Atari Falcon, but have no idea how to deal with STX images. So far I always managed to "open" .ST or .MSA files with no problems, but .STX gives me no way to do the same.
Re: what is the ideal sample editor and best for AVR,SPL,WAV?
Hatari and Steem supports STX image files.
You can copy needed files to a new ST/MSA or hard disk folder with them.

Thanks. So, I will need to install an emulator first? I am not familiar with Atari emulators, to be honest.Cyprian wrote:Hatari and Steem supports STX image files.

I have access to a Windows XP PC, is Steem is the right choice for me?
Is it difficult to get Steem up and running?
Where do I find the apporpriate Steem version that supports STX files and Windows XP?
Re: what is the ideal sample editor and best for AVR,SPL,WAV?
the latest Steem SSE you can find there: https://sourceforge.net/projects/steemsse/
and Hatari: http://download.tuxfamily.org/hatari/1.9.0/
just download, extract and run them

Re: what is the ideal sample editor and best for AVR,SPL,WAV?
Not sure what is trying to be achieved, I appreciate this is an old thread resurrected and I may not be understanding, but Digidesign's Sound Designer can be downloaded here in v2 guise and .ST format: http://www.atarimania.com/utility-atari ... 17566.html
Working on the Falcon? Sound Designer was programmed without the Atari Falcon in mind, but ST in Hi Res. You may be lucky I have never tried it, but would be surprised.

OK cool, you could try here for Explorer 32 too, and others, if the links work: http://atari.mnx2010.nl/helpdesk/music/editors.htm
ex32v21.zip link for Explorer 32.
Remember, these were not Falcon specific software.
