Note that .ST is only supported read-only. You will have to go to .HFE if you also want to write to your emulated floppy disks.

Wrong... update the firmware you will be able to read/write to ST files:

Hmm, pending the answer to my question about the HxC ones being able to handle this, I may have to invest in a Gotek!

The sad thing is, they're like a 3rd of the price of the HxC and I ordered two of those. Oh well, support Lotharek and all that.

For programs (games, demo, etc) that needs a floppy to work - the floppy emulator is the way to go.
If you get an US, you need to wait for someone to make the program work on HDD.

Auuu ! That's really not motivating. What about yourself go in that adventure. and make it yourself to work on HDD ? Believe me, in some cases it is not that hard. Not to mention that there is plenty of SW what is already HD compatible - here I mean made compatible by it's authors.

Well, With you, SofiST, Ppera and your shadow, what ever that are not converted yet may be very soon be available with HDD compatibility.
So waiting time may not be too long.

It is not "too big". this is just a 82 tracks 10 sectors per track floppy.
you can try to pack it ? in msa ?

Hi Guys,

Recently bought a 520 STe and ordered a Gotek HxC USB off eBay, can someone confirm for me the following? Because I've seen conflicting information.

- I can write to disk images?
- HxC Mount only works with the SD version not the USB for Hard disk images?

Any help would be appreciated!

the latest firmware will support read and write, I have the USB version and it fitted in place of the OE floppy drive.

I finally plugged my CosmosEx into my Falcon, so now i have an extra HxC sitting around. Not sure if I'll stick it in another system or not, since my A4000D already has one too.
