Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)
The site has recently reached the 2500th menu. Have recently added disks by The Fallen Angels, The Biker, The Midland Boyz, Deadly FX, Random Access...
Next steps:
- working on Pompey Pirates menus (Marcer will give me a hand with its own collection).
- also I'll add a very rare collection of menus: The World's Picture Collection. More than 170 menus were made and they contain many rare cracks by The Empire, The Replicants... Thys Elroy, who made these menus, sent a CD-R 15 years ago. it contains the almost complete collection. Just need to check them, which takes a long time.
See you soon menu lovers

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)
- Have finished to check/repair/upload The World's Picture Collection!
Some disks are still missing, but a large part of the collection is now online.
Hope to get some news from Thys Elroy one day, who knows?
- Working on FOF / Superior disks at the moment. Need to check each one as always.
I though it'd be "easy" since the menus are available everywhere since 20 years, but I was wrong
Found at least one corrupted menu, and I'm far from the end of the complete set.

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)
I've probably said it a few times on this thread, but all your effort on these menus is really appreciated. A fantastic effort indeed!
I recall when I was re-creating menus for my long-defunct FTP site and also when I was repacking older cracks for disk saving years before that, I had a similar idea to the "worlds Picture collection" in that similar games/series would be packed together, but only made a small start on it

Hi Brume, could you check your original disk copy of Lemmings 21 - does the File Checker ('F' key in the menu) fail on the BAT2_4 file?

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)
Thanks for your report, Qube.
Good news: the dump of TLS #21 is safe.
I've unpacked BAT2_4 and compared this file to the data of the original game: they match 100%.
It's a problem with the File Checker, which doesn't affect the game.
You should be able to play the whole game w/o problem.

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)
Cheers Brume,
I did wonder if it was an issue with the file checker.
Your copy seems to be the only true working copy, the current TOSEC versions are bad by the looks of it, in fact they are missing anything in their AUTO folder by the looks of it.
Keep up the good work with the site, it is an excellent site!

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)
Thanks for your encouragement Qube
TOSEC hasn't been updated since a long time. It has also plenty of damaged / duplicated / unverified files, so well... Of course it doesn't mean Stonish is perfect, but I run each intro+game+tool+demo on each menu. Also I try to collect menus directly from the source as often as possible. If everything goes well, I'll soon get the *full* collection of menus made by a French team. Again, it will come directly from the source (= the boss of the band). Can't wait, because I'm looking for this collection since 15 years. Fingers crossed.
@aktiv8: thanks for your support, too
Btw, did you make both menus only or...? Maybe more...?

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)
just a small technical notice - may I?
Do you know about error on your site? after click on name of the game on the search results list - you will get error (or list of SQL commands)
- click on some menu disk - you will see list of games on this disk
- click on the game name - you will see list of disks where that game appears
- click on the game name in the list - http://www.atarilegend.com/games/games_ ... ame_id=282 - you will get that error/dump
anyway - many, many thanks for nice job...

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)
Yes, of course there're many error on the site, but the one you mentioned isn't related to Stonish.
The game names links to Atari Legend website, which is down since many weeks.
I've heard it will back online as soon as their new project is finished

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)
Holy Moley how many groups were on the go? Nice work Brume!
Currently catching up with all the going ons finally getting round to sorting out the mess of an image collection, curious to what other groups might have been going, found this thread, had a look at the site and just had no idea!
Half wondering considering a good chunk of my collection is centered around TOSEC whether to just start from scratch...
Anyhoo, browsing the site a couple of group names come to mind that seem to be missing and no mention in this thread so far, possible they are on the to-do list but though I would mention them all the same.
Golden Dawn - Seeing Serenade I'm gathering the PD compilation groups are still game for the site, this was a group I recall and do have a few disk images kicking about for them.
Sweet Sixteen - I sometimes think I imagined this group, had one or two physical disks in my collection but zilch to anything about the internet, thought I would throw the name out there, maybe it will jog the memory of someone here? Possible they were just a very local to me group.

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)
Yes, there's still a l ot of menus that need to be checked and listed before uploading them on the site. Golden Dawn's menus are among them (they're already on Demozoo : https://demozoo.org/groups/33465 but they deserve to be on Stonish, too).
Never heard about Sweet Sixteen, but as you said, there were tons of local groups that produced menus.

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)
Brume is there a DAT file available that covers what is on Stonish? It would help people identify anything you might not have?

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)
With fingers crossed I'm trying to trace where my collection has ended up, hopefully in tact and hopefully able to get access to everything I had. Maybe, just maybe...Brume wrote:Never heard about Sweet Sixteen, but as you said, there were tons of local groups that produced menus.
Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)
@Methanoid : there is a missing list, but it's not accurate. Need to improve it a bit, that's why there's no link on the homepage to this list.
You can find it here: http://stonish.net/missingmenus.php
Also don't consider Pompey Pirates nor Superior /FOF menus in the list. I'm working on them, which takes time.
There's now more than 2750 disks on the site. Hope to reach the magical number of 3000 menus before the end of the year.
