Atari demo fonts

Post by Gryzor »

... I had found a site that archived fonts (not font files, but bitmpas with the fonts) from Atari demos... lost the bookmark, damn. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Cheers

You probably mean http://www.algonet.se/~guld1/freefont.htm
They have lots of graphical fonts from Atari ST Demos and intros there.
Very handy if you aren't an artist :D

Hehe :)

14 years later I got an email asking me about these fonts, since the site is down. Thankfully these fonts resided on an old DVD, so I looked for them and am uploading them here for anyone else who might want them.

Ah, and I had actually put that on my to-do list to check later for a tool that does that :D

Attached is zip of the font images with duplicates removed (and GIFs converted to PNGs as latter are smaller).

BTW you should be able to "convert" using Grafx2 (open PNG, check palette, save as PI1, verify palette) - but dont quote me on that, I have not tested

Sorry, but I will quote you on that because it worked. Very quick way of converting them to .pi1, thanks!

I got some mails over the years from people with more info about the fonts. Like where the fonts came from and who drew it. So I made changes in the database but that is long gone now.
