Re: Atari Gamer Magazine
Thanks everybody, so far that has purchased the magazine, the feedback so far was been brilliant and delighted I've presented the Atari 8-bit is the manner it deserved to be seen, it truly is such an underrated machine, there was some I wanted to cover, the likes of the demo scene and the 4 channel soundchip (pokey) and what it was able to do and its graphical power of 256 colours.
Again thank you everybody so far for having the faith in it, you all are truly Atari 8-bit fans

Re: Atari Gamer Magazine
Sorry folks , its been bought to my attention that two of the game review in the magazine were incorrect and belong to 2 different games all together, so if you've purchased the magazine, please send me a pm here with your real names, so I can cross reference who you are against the database and replace your copy with a revisited game review correction thanks
All the best

Edit: i have email all ywho purchased the magazine with the revised version..thank you and apologizes again

Re: Atari Gamer Magazine
Greyfox,
I bought the Homebrew Heroes magazine from your signature but I haven't received a link to download it.
I sent you a PM on AtariAge (it is down for me for some reason atm) and have not heard back.
I also sent Kieren and you both an email about this and have had no response.
How do I get the magazine? I checked and the paypal payment already went through.
Sorry to post this in the forum instead of PM, but I haven't been getting a response with PMs.
Thank you.

Re: Atari Gamer Magazine

But just wanted to add my personal thanks to all who purchased the magazine and left comments. It was my 1st venture into something like this and whilst the stuff i supplied was raw and in hindsight i could of done a few things differently, the kind words helped convince me getting involved in ST Gamer was a worthy effort and i jumped into interviews in a manner i never expected.
I'm still trying to track down coders behind claime 'Lost A8 games' as well as 'lost' C64/Jaguar/Lynx/ST/PC/PS1 etc etc games.Made some fantastic discoveries along the way as anyone who's read my interviews for Grumpy Old Gamers will know.
Long may the discoveries continue....

Re: Atari Gamer Magazine

In past few days, over on Atari Age, we've discovered a finished version of Paper Boy on the 7800 was handed to Atari, yet never released, that 7800 Chronicles Of Cute was abandoned, game development switched to ST/Amiga (but seemed more suited to 7800) and had name changed.
Looking much further back, found 3+ sources that confirmed Jaguar CD Creature Shock was something Atari wanted, but nothing got done by Argonaught themselves, Atari just converted generic FMV from game to test read speeds on Jaguar CD, Waterworld never got beyond talk of...Lynx Cal Games 2 was never started, Thallion never planned any Jaguar Projects, Jeff Minter never did any work on the Lynx, let alone Star Raiders....
Now if only i could track down answers to:7800 Skyfox and Turrican....
A8 Road Runner and Ninja Golf.......
Lynx Cabal etc.....
I could ease off a little.

Re: Atari Gamer Magazine
Just as a follow up:
Even though i'm busy slaving away
on content for ST Gamer etc in terms of interviews etc, i've not forgotten the Atari 8 bit in terms of trying to track down info on Lost Games be it on the micro or console side of things.
Had brief chat with Ex-Gremlin Graphics artist last night, who worked there at same time Bob Armour was converting Tower Toppler to 7800 and whilst he remembers TALK of other 7800 projects, he cannot recal work on anything else getting started. I'd hazzard a guess any future 7800 conversion work would of depended on how well the 7800 sold in UK, before software houses devoted resources to it, as was the case with the 65XE....
Talking of Bob, i did track down the chap who wrote the article claiming Bob was to convert Gauntlet to the 7800 (and this article shared amongst 3 UK publications) sent him an email with scan from the mags.Never heard a damn thing back...
Ditto from chap who wrote an article on the Atari Show in London for Atari User magazine claiming Databyte were launching Adam Caveman on A8 at the show. Again mag scan sent, nothing heard.
Also asked friend of mine to 'Tweet' Paul Glancey, who claimed in C+VG that Gremlin were to convert Technocop to the 7800, again, nothing heard back in response.
UK Press seemed to get an awful lot of these claims wrong and i'd love to know where info came from (if they can remember) but sadly people are'nt talking or don't feel the questions inspire enough to respond to.
Still, it was worth a shot.
Nothing ventured etc....

Re: Atari Gamer Magazine
Mothing from Paul Glancey, re:Claims of Technocop appearring on 7800, but i can confirm that:
Gary Priest who was part of the team behind the C64 original, never did any 7800 development and wasn't aware of any 7800 ports.
So that rules out that possibility.
