Yeah! SuperVidel arrived today!
Waiting for disk module to replace my hard drive before I can install. For those of you who have installed this and the Svethlana I'd love to see pictures of the install.

Naah! I am not showing you my setup, otherwise Instream and Hencox would come here an pray my SV+SvethLana off my Falcon
By the way, congratulations!
Right now I "pushed" my screen to 1280x1024@32bpp (I was parked at 1024x768 because I wasn't daring enough, hehe)

Throwing my hat in the ring here, got my SV today.
Not had any time to play with it though. I'm concerned
a bit about my CT60. I don't think I've ever updated the
firmware on it, so it's probably way out of date...

Re: Yeah! SvperVidel arrived today!
Mine arrived safe and sound Saturday! Unit was packed like sent from some huge outlet such as Arrow electronics
Looks cool. As either of CT60/63 has not been installed, well, since forever, must get to that task first.
Same question as DarkLord, have never updated firmware. Units are early runs, one a 60, other a 63.
Wasn't it said somewhere along the line Roger at Annodyne was able to flash them?
Only reservation is, didn't purchase two units
Will put that on the wife, then was lucky to get "approved" last year for being such a ''good'' husband

Can we verify whether or not Roger can flash them? That would be nice, considering
I don't have a JTAG cable, or even any idea where to start.

I'm ready, then I'll need a good quiet Sunday to install everything properly.
I will respond when the card arrives, see you later.

Re: Yeah! SvperVidel arrived today!
Now that my SuperVidel arrived I tried to put it into the original Falcon case but found out that it collides with the harddisk tray.
So the question is: Where can I put the harddisk instead?

Re: Yeah! SvperVidel arrived today!
Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately the storage capacity is not big enough. As I am using my falcon for several tasks that require disk space, e.g. storing fotos from my digital camera, using it as a mp3 jukebox, emailing incl. attachements etc I need more storage capacity than 2 gb. The hard disk I am using at the moment has 128 gb. I know that you can buy a similar device that you are using up to 256 gb but these are way too expensive.mdivancic wrote: I replaced my HD with this, works great!

@DarkLord: The only thing I could find at Nature's website was an extender board for the ct60 but that doesn't help with the hard disk issue.
You can see some fotos of my computer at AtariAge (old version without supervidel):

Re: Yeah! SvperVidel arrived today!
I'm using one of those 16GB KingSpec vertical Disk-On-Module drives. It works great. I just saw a 32GB on ebay for 52 USD, from Hong Kong where I bought mine.patjomki wrote:Thanks for the tip. I checked the SuperVidel installation manual, but it doesn't mention anything about moving the harddrive. The general project info on our homepage nature.atari.org does though.

BTW, my question isn't any kind of criticism on the SuperVidel in any way. The SuperVidel is a fantastic and well manufactured device and when it is finally installed my falcon with ct60 will hopefully come to new life. IMO the falcon with MiNT, ct60, EtherNAT and SuperVidel has everything necessary for modern computing. Enough memory, a relatively fast cpu, fast ethernet, USB ports and a decent screen resolution.
Actually I was waiting for such a device since I got my ct60 and had to find out that unfortunately neither the NOVA graphics card nor the Eclipse worked.

So thanks for your work and that you never gave up.
Nevertheless, I am still curious about your recommendations where to put my harddisk.

Re: Yeah! SvperVidel arrived today!
About the HD displacement:
In my frankencase this is maybe my masterpiece (mwhahahaha!).
I unscrewed the HD bracket, reversed it, and plied two feet in order to install the HD vertically!
This way I have the video cable gently touching the HD, and I didn't have to change the HD ribbon, since it perfectly fits the distance HD-motherboard connector.
You would say: "Pictures, or it dind't happen!"
Well, right now I am on a short vacation; as soon as I'll be next to my falcon again, you'll ahve pictures.
