It's a local pick-up only one, but who in that area doesn't want a spare one for less than £5?

My main site: http://www.mug-uk.co.uk - slowly digging up the bits from my past (and re-working a few): Atari ST, Sega 8-bit (game hacks) and NDS (Music ripping guide).
I develop a free Word (for Windows) add-in that's available for Word 2007 upwards. It's a fix-it toolbox that will allow power Word users to fix document errors. You can find it at: http://www.mikestoolbox.co.uk

Re: 520STFM (no cables etc.) - £4.99 (Nottingham, UK)
ha ha! It was a "Her" actually...
I won this for £2.99 - Nottingham is just up the road from me and on the way to my Mum's...
Picked it up today and it works fine... it's an STFM Tos 1.02 I think with green power light and orange disk light but the disk drive has a big switch like the Tos 1.0 single sided drives - odd - it is double sided though.
Bad news: PSU is a bit dodgy, movement can cause resets.
Good news: It appears to have been upgraded - 1meg games work!! Yeah!
Will take it apart tomorrow and have a good look though!!
Cheers

You sure it's the PSU? If so, at least it might be an easy fix.insanity wrote:Bad news: PSU is a bit dodgy, movement can cause resets.

My old STFM had a problem with its memory upgrade that would kill it if it got a bit of a bang, sometimes (my cure for it back then was to give it another bang).

Right, the motherboard is the (becoming increasingly common) C070789-001 Rev. C version.
This is the memory upgrade, dunno what size though, suspect 2 lots of 256K, anyone know?:
I've added the board to the wiki ST Motherboards section because of the upgrade:

Not a big problem, so very pleased - thanks to mug for the heads up!!

Yep, when I said movement I forgot to mention of the lead, right near the connection, seems to have a lot of play in it!Desty wrote:You sure it's the PSU? If so, at least it might be an easy fix.
