Help me! My atari 2600 does not work!

Please help me, I just bought it, I plugged it in, put it on, and all that happens is you see the wavy lines to let you know it works, but I put a game in and it doesn't work..

Please help me.

Im desperate.

have you tied cleaning it, could be dirty connectors on the cartridge, or dirty connector on the 2600, open it and give it a good clean, that should do the job

I have 2 working motherboards to 2600jr.
