Incredible 8 Bit Library Find.

Post by rcamp48 »

I have big news for Atari 8 bit owners, my friend has found an entire library from The Atari 8 Bit GTIA group from Kitchener, Ontario, I have no idea if the disks are even readable as I have no 8 bit equipment yet. They are in an Indus drive case so they should be ok and they were stored in a dry and safe place. I am going to get a 5.25 inch dive (360 K) for my old Windows machine (Windows 98) and back them all up. Let you all know what is on them this afternoon. GTIA means Get Together For Information On Atari, Kitchener, Ontario, Canada based.
Now supporting Atari Portfolio , my archives are still being maintained.
BBS is now up again as an Atari BBS, run on PC, cause I sold everything but my Atari Portfolio.
Note: Atari Portfolio IDE CF kits are being made. Get yours today! :megaphone:
Note that my BBS is back online with Win-server 8.0454.8 at telnet://spyvisitsspybbs.com:1990 and http://www.spyvisitsspybbs.com:1991

I stand corrected, this is a library from both GTAI, KWEST, and TAF , there are several Toronto Atari Federation Atari 8 bit disks in the case , they look like they may be readable. KWEST was the Kitchener, Waterloo, Eight , Sixteen, Thirty Two Atari Users Group.

Great find. Just got my hands on a 130XE so I'm interested!

There is a new post about my copying all of the disks, both sides , from the KWEST library.

There's an FTP site chock-full of Atari 8- & 16-bit software collections (ftp://pigwa.net) and the owner of it can be found on this forum. Once all of the disks are archived, I'm sure they will want a copy of the full set that you've done.
My main site: http://www.mug-uk.co.uk - slowly digging up the bits from my past (and re-working a few): Atari ST, Sega 8-bit (game hacks) and NDS (Music ripping guide).

I develop a free Word (for Windows) add-in that's available for Word 2007 upwards. It's a fix-it toolbox that will allow power Word users to fix document errors. You can find it at: http://www.mikestoolbox.co.uk
