Problem with CT60e and SuperVidel
Hello.
I have received my CT60e and have made some tests.
If I run only the board alone, I can kick it up to 90MHz stable.
If I plug the SV on the CT60e, I can't go over 66MHz before it crashes.
I also have a CT63 that I can run with the SV in 90MHz stable.
So something is different with the CT60e, and I wonder if anyone
have a idea? I have tested with both v006 and v010 on the SV,
and also 1.03c and 2.01 on the CT60e. Same problem with all tests.

I get this error message when it boots up and shall load the drivers for the SV.

Re: Problem with CT60e and SuperVidel
Oh crap, this isn't good. :-( CT60e's aim has been actually to IMPROVE this against CT60/CT63 where it was really normal to observe defects and deformation of the signals when going to more than 66 MHz. I remember a very strange situation when I had to stay at 66 MHz when using EtherNAT else my disk (!!!) access would lead to corrupted data. WIthout EtherNAT -- 100 MHz no problem.
Re: Problem with CT60e and SuperVidel
Has been years but IIRC, there was several firmware upgrade to make SV stable on CT63.
Since you have a stable SV & CT63 combo, you shold compare the firmware version.

Re: Problem with CT60e and SuperVidel
Isn't there a jumper on the SV which purpose is to "clean" the CT60's bus from noise? Try removing that jumper.
Re: Problem with CT60e and SuperVidel
Btw., my CT60 (the original one) with SV is stable at 75Mhz. Very instable between 75-92Mhz. And at 93Mhz it becomes stable again.
Re: Problem with CT60e and SuperVidel
I have tested with the same FW on both configurations.wongck wrote:Has been years but IIRC, there was several firmware upgrade to make SV stable on CT63.

I will test this today and see if it helps.jvas wrote:Isn't there a jumper on the SV which purpose is to "clean" the CT60's bus from noise? Try removing that jumper.

I tested to remove the jumper and now it works great up to at least 95MHz.fidzen wrote:I will test this today and see if it helps.jvas wrote:Isn't there a jumper on the SV which purpose is to "clean" the CT60's bus from noise? Try removing that jumper.

Re: Problem with CT60e and SuperVidel
Phew, that's a relief! I have two SuperVidels at home, I'd hate to mark them as "CT60/63 only".
Re: Problem with CT60e and SuperVidel
V2.01? You've already flashed over the V1.03c they worked so hard on to get rid of CTPCI issues?fidzen wrote:Hello.

Tisk tisk.
The jumper setting is mentioned in the SV manual......
