Not quite sure if I understand, but you have to remove the original PSU to fit the CT650e.
OK sure, I appreciate. Of course there are unknowns at the moment, but I am guessing this is where a PicoPSU would come in!

Excellent picture, I can't wait, I'm so so looking forward to getting one of these in one of my Falcons,
I've just bought a 68060 cpu as I think I'll be needing soon

Happy new year

1 year now I get no news from the author of the CT60e (Martin / Willy). My emails stays with no feedback. :?

Very disappointed to see a such long delay to just modify the original CT60 !
After more than 1 year; the PCB pictures are dated June 2015 and the assembled proto picture is dated October 2015 !
4 months to solder parts on the PCB ? :x
A joke ? 1 or 2 week are enough ! I assembled my CT60 proto in 2004 with 1 day ! :P
Sorry to tell that but I cannot tell something else especially when I remember the goal of Martin when he asked me a licence , was to do available quickly a new CT60 because lany people where waiting for a CT60...

Now we are in 2016 !

It took me about an hour to replace a reset switch on my TT030, making a whole board in a day is definitely beyond my skills!

Good point though, I was all excited to see a recent project to make some of these, since I'm sure the CT60/CT63 boards out there are owned by people that are not willing to part with them.

I've only recently been able to get a hold of a Falcon myself, so am really wanting to get an 060 in it.

I would be interested in one of these for my Falcon too, if the cost is in my budget. But I do not see a estimated cost on this thread yet. Did I miss something..?

Dedication is a wonderful thing. I feel for you - did the same when I moved the internal
power supply board on my STacy - hand soldered extension wires from the motherboard
so I could move the P/S to where the original battery pack was to make room for the
Pak 68/3 board. I was sweating bullets the first time I powered it up. :)

  oh yea "sweating bullets is the correct term" i had to double check my work to the schematic's like 10 times before even powering up, i was much to scared! :?

I gave up on the ct60e last month and bought a ct2, now I am nervous about installing it. Has anyone done one before, how much skill does one need.

I wouldn't do it if you are a novice at soldering. You will need to pay very close attention to the install manual. Mine ended up going to France and having the CPU removed from the board by Rudolph. At least he is still floating around. :-)

That's kind of what I thought, I am going to practice soldering on an old pc. If I still don't feel comfortable doing it I called aty computers and he said he could install it.

Its not to hard at all, make sure you use flux, flux will make it easier for you to solder. My greatest challenge was trying to keep a steady (non-shaky) hand

Cutting traces is probably the most daunting part. Check twice, cut once.

Can I also suggest using good old fashioned lead solder? The lead free stuff doesn't mix well with real solder.

Got it, Flux, double check before I cut traces, steady hand and lead solder. What could possibly go wrong.
Thank you : Atari030, Paul92706 and Iceman for the advice. I will let you know how it goes.

If you aren't a born soldering talent, I wouldn't do it even after such a practice. The soldering part is actually the easier one, as mentioned the cutting & understanding the manual are the most risky ones.

It's really a task for a professional, that's the reason why Centek themselves had stopped providing support for home made installations and required everyone to ship the motherboard to France.

I would have to agree with Mikro, it should go to a qualified person. I was much to stuborn to send my Atari motherboards out, due to bad expieriences. If you feel your able to execute this task go for it, if you plan on doing it yourself, ask ask ask questions on here, don't second guess just ask questions even if there dumb questions, take pictures and post here, we could help. I hope you make right choices good luck buddy  this will be a great learning expierience for you!
