EmuTOS and Milan60

Post by PeterS »

Which is the correct EmuTOS for running on a Milan ?

I downloaded emutos-prg-0.9.12.zip and tried running emutos.prg and emutosuk.prg both cause and immediate lock-up.

I was hoping that EmuTOS might be able to access the large partitions that Milan TOS cannot access.

Milan is not supported. That would be a major job, as the only thing the Milan has in common with "real" Ataris is the CPU family and the MFP. This is also why MagiC on the Milan is the only version of MagiC that does not access hardware itself but use the built-in TOS (X)BIOS.

That's annoying.

Is there any other way to access large partitions from TOS ?

BigDOS? I have never tested it on my Milan though.

I've never tried BigDOS either, I thought it was like HD Driver.

It looks like it has a 2GB limit. I've got 10GB partitions.

With MiNT, can GEM=ROM option be used on the Milan?

Maybe, but I have not been able to get it working. I get a "No INIT" when I set "GEM=ROM".

bigdos is limited to FAT16 filesystem up to 2 GB.

What kind of partition is it? The only way to access bigger partitions on Atari machines is MinT, but only Fat32 and ext2 format.
Power without the Price. It's not a bug. It's a feature. _/|\_ATARI
