Puffin or Owl? Cygnet? Chimera? Gryphon? (probably these last two are Amiga peripherals as well :P)

Actually Dodo has a nice ring to it - a kind of cozy touch :D
For this reason I don't really go for all the sparkly names like gemstones etc. Something simple and fun is better, less cold and impersonal IMO.

Um how about something in the style of the original ST like 'Coldfire ST', 'ST Coldfire' or STc or even something slightly cheesey like STX..
Firebee, Falcon CT60, Milan 040, Falcon MkI, TT, Mega STe, Mega ST + Lots of STs of various flavours

looks like the coldfire is 32bit so maybe 'ColdFire TT' (yea well maybe i'm biased to TT  ) or maybe 'ColdFire STTF' to indicate ST, TT & falcon compatability?

guess the problem is those all contain allready trademarked names

My word: Aerolith

Certainly avoid ST, TT, XT, AT, STX, STE, and PC
as FEEDBEEF would be a better choice.

Hello,

First of all, sorry for my English which is not perfect (I'm Belgian :-)

Do you remember the movie 2001 space odysey ? There was a computer called HAL.

Why HAL ? easy : (I think most of you knows why) : The letter after H is I, the letter after A is B and the letter after L is M --> Thus HAL is comming from IBM....

Why couldn't we do the same with this famous Coldari computer.

Since it is based on an ATARI (My favorite computer :-), the new name could be : BUBSJ....2010.... for example

Ok a "J" right after a "S" is maybe strange but it sounds ok.

It is an Idea...

Anyway, I'm very happy (I'm not the only one...lol) to see that the Atari is still alive and to see that the future is good...

Best regards

Rich.

It looks like this thread was overlooked (not looked over) for names
because there are a few here that were neither accepted nor rejected.

Sorry I don´t get it, what´s so complicated in reading a few lines? For weeks in every announcement of the name contest was written:

"We ask you to send earnest ideas to 'acpinfo at atari dot org' until January 31st 2010."

The idea was to discuss it here and at other places, and if you some days later find it really good, send it in to our official mailadress. Sorry but for 3 days I did nothing else than colleting informations, and preparing the vote now. And several people didn´t even type their suggestions once into a searchengine, ... I hope you understand that we/I didn´t go through all forums to collect a few hundret more suggestions, than the 183 we got sent in.
