Does anyone here use the Atari ST emulator for the Pocket PC? Is it full speed? I'll definitely buy a PocketPC to run ST games.

Awwwww... I was just about plunk money down on a Dell Axim too...Captain Chaos wrote:I have a 400mHz PPC and CastCE runs crap slow is buggy and sound is crap.
But on the other hand I have a gp32 and CaSTaway runs really nice @ 144mHz.

Is the gp32 a palm? haven't heard much about it. how much? can it do pda stuff?
Thanks for the reply!

All my real skills are undervalued
Guys, Any emulator running too slow will give you Bad Result...
I'm one of the Author of CastCE which is Far better than other port, GP32 or PALM, as all other port are based on our first version.
I can tell you that on my A620 (400mhz), CastCE 1.2 which should be released very soon is very impressive....
On my Old IPAQ 206Mhz CastCE ran most of the time at 50 fps and with nearly perfect sound.....
Wait & See...

Schtruck,
a bit off-topic, but is any port planned for Smartphones? I'm just asking this for my brother, who has sort of updated the port of Atari800 for smartphones, and he would like to see ST emulation on his cell phone as well. He could help with this port too.

Hi all.
My above post regarding the current version of CastCE is perhaps a bit misleading and I hope it did not put anyone off using CastCE.
I decided last night to download and have another go dedicating more time to tweaking etc and I must say I am very happy with the results!
I downloaded the PocketPC 2002 - GAPI version and latest version of GAPI from Micro$oft, installed using help from the online manual and started playing around.
I dont recall downloading the GAPI driver last time I installed CastCE and this is probably why I experienced so many crashes.
If anybody is about to/or is in the process of trying CastCE and runs into probs, dont hesitate asking me for help - I will certainly try with what I learned about it last night.
Anyway, all in all this is a great emulator and getting better!
Keep up the great work Schtruck and please check your mail for an email from me asking for latest version
Cheers,
ASY
