Logo

Post by MSueper »

Hello,
going thru my disks i found a program called "logo". I know this is a programming language (it's on the ST 520 language disk).
Does someone know anything about this "strange" language? It's not like basic, even if print works...

Logo is a completely useless language for anything else than drawing. I had only two experiences with this language. The first was in my 8bit atari but after writing two programs and trying to save them on the tape I managed to kill it :(. The second came after 2 years and when i was at high school and at the age of 13 and we had to learn some of it along with gwbasic. I managed to teach my teacher a few things at that class.
Other than it's an interpreter and it was created as an experiment to order a small robot (turtle looking) to draw a few lines, I haven't seen or heard anything else being done with logo. It is however one of the most important steps in the history of computing, that it is.

i can certainly say logo rules , we wouldn't have advanced if it weren't for the logo. at first glimpse it seems slow but if you programm on any level ,please admit ,it all seems slow.(that is pin-pointing a routine ,finding functions, and directing parameters, encorparating grafics). i guess logo is meant to be fun. ha ha he he!! well i use basic more than logo and have manuals for both, pm /email for any questions.

Thanks for all your help!! :D

For the moment i'm satisfied drawing circles, boxes, etc. It's easy to draw simple fractals using loops. Just want to play with it...
