Wow !!! One would better keep firepower to its max !!!
Pressing space ain't that easy ... but helpful against first boss.

30900. Too fast on 060...
@Klaz, any chance you could incorporate the screenshot feature of ULS for STOT purposes?

It's a miracle it works on your CT63 at all.christos wrote:30900. Too fast on 060...

High score saving and memory snapshots work as well on your machine?
Still, it's a bit strange it runs so fast, as the framerate should be limited to 3 VBLs on all machines, hmmm...
Regarding screenshots, I'll include that in future fixes if you like. Honestly, I never thought someone would really care for that feature.

In the meantime, you could also save a memory snaphot on your CT63, load that into Steem and make a screenshot from there. Or you could use a hex editor to extract the screen data from the memory snapshot. Or just use a digicam?

The tears are welling in my eyes again, I need twenty big buckets to catch them in, twenty pretty girls to carry them down, twenty deep holes to bury them in.

Re: STOT #3/9: Flying Shark
Yeah, they both work. Sprites are 1 vbl as far as i can judge and the bullets are very fast. I've just played it in steem and it was so much easier. It feels much better with the added speed though but it's insanely hard.Klapauzius wrote:It's a miracle it works on your CT63 at all.christos wrote:30900. Too fast on 060...

Some of your ULS patches work on the CT63. Guess which other one does as well but with no speed bonus

And before I forget here's my new score...

My score is 79860, not sure if I will get time to try and improve, it already took me a lot of attempts to get that far!

Re: STOT #3/9: Flying Shark
That's not so bad for a two goes, Mug, I was getting less than that on my first few goes.
Current score 87,600
EDIT - 97,560
The highest I got was 111,010 (binary!), but this was using Klaz's state save feature to start at the beginning of level 2 over and over again
I got so sick of beating level 1 to get to the second stage I decided to use that to explore the game more.
Anyway, I now give up. The main thing that annoys me with this game is despite the fact you have multiple lives, if you die in the second level that's pretty much game over because you lose your weapon powerup. Sure, you can use the bombs to make your score a bit higher and get a little further in the level, but you never properly recover from dying once.

After losing a life, we lose all weapons; it's the flaw of this game in the gameplay imo

The game is a little too hard indeed.Ragstaff wrote:The main thing that annoys me with this game is despite the fact you have multiple lives, if you die in the second level that's pretty much game over because you lose your weapon powerup.

I like shmups, so I just tried this. It's hard! I think I'd be better with a D-pad rather than a joystick though.
