Cleared one level - 30275 (so far) but not sure where I've got to go to complete this ship and travel onto the next one! Game on PAUSE at the moment :)

You have to find a key. There is one at each Ship. Lotek Style demonstrated it yesterday at the anual tscc gathering.

Ah .. I found a key. Will reload the snapshot and continue. Kept going back to a bridge area thinking that was the way out.

*edit* - which I eventually found.
Paradroid_002.png
Transferred off the ship, got my bonus score and then the game crashes out leaving me with just a red screen and nothing else. So, for now, my score was in the region of 50K as it was going up due to the bonus when I took the above picture. Grrrrr!
Paradroid_003.png
Hoping the snapshot will let me continue from when I saved it off - otherwise I'll have to do the whole ship again :( I'm using the Superior filed version (based on the Medway Boys hack).

*2nd update* - the snapshot loaded in OK. But same red screen appears once you try to continue past the end of the level. Got to start again but using a different hack - which one is everyone else using?

It's a good idea to practise with the memory snapshot function, but a real score has to be done without it. But it looks that you are well trained compared to me :-( .... :-)

OK, have deleted the snapshot and the game. Will have to start again anyway with a different hack or a PASTI version.

I must have been lucky and got the 999 robot early on in the game that I got my good score on earlier as now I'm getting my butt kicked and can't get above 5000

The transfer stuff is also a lot harder when you've got a lowly robot ... STOT normality and my crap scoring resumes :)

@Mug: I saw Lotek playing without the Transfer Stuff and I tought that in that case the game is boaring. Ok with the Transfer Stuff the game could end very early :-)

Great work Marakatti, like the Atarimania Paradroid 90 data a lot. A good example what we could espect in the future and whats possible.

That's how I used to play it on the Spectrum when it was known as Quazatron :) No idea how I won the battles against the bigger droids so quickly either - ah well, back to hovering around the 4000-5000 mark!

What a uniquely fascinating game! Shame I'm spending so much time arseing about with my UltraSatan, as I think a bit of practice, along with garnered knowledge of the ship layout and 'droid library' might make this game even more interesting (not to mention making my score a lot healthier - I suck :D )

My first effort: 3425

Thorn just left my flat after a small 2 person ST gaming meeting.

We played Dogs Of War, Lethal Xcess and Badlands. But ofcourse we also played Paradroid 90 and Thorn did an official STOT score on my STE and LCD TV:

4835 - best score over the last few days (that I remembered to take a picture of)
Mug UK - 4835.png
More annoying was that I'd found the key to the level too! But my soldier droid got beaten by the one with the triple lasers (he was the last droid on that floor)
Mug UK - got the damn key too!.png

That's the easy bit - but winning the transfer can be a bit hard when you're the lowly droid versus the others.

You're lines are on the left of the screen with your yellow lines, the droid you're attempting to take over is on the other (pink) side. You have until the counter reaches the top of the screen to plan where your lines will get the power.

You need to place them so that, after the counter reaches zero, there are more yellow dots than pink dots. Some of the lines lead onto multiple hits, some have extra power (so last longer) and others end in a dead end and/or need multiple hits to get the same result. The higher the droid up the 'food chain' the more lines you can power up.

Edit: Added some screenshots to explain :)

Areas of Interest:
Paradroid '90 - Areas of interest.png
The above shows some useful places - my droid is to the left of a refuel depot. The <<<<<<<< lines at the top of the screen indicate your power. Each shot / collision with another droid lowers this. Keep it topped up.

The desks are where you "log in" via the transfer method and it'll show you where the teleporters are and how many other droids are left on that level.

The teleporters are the squares to the left of the refuel depot on this screenshot.

Transfer Battles #1 - big droid vs small droid
Paradroid #90 - Battle #1 - start.png
The above is the start of the match. I've got a bigger droid and, in theory, this battle is pointless as you're going to (easily) win and in effect downgrade your droid to a lesser one.

Anyway. As the counter goes up the screen, work out where to place your yellow power lines so that, at the end of the match, you have more power lines illuminated than your opponent when the counter reaches the bottom of the screen. I've got two lines where one power will equal two lights .. so I use those to my advantage. I've also got a power doubler on another line - this will last for the whole of the game (in theory). Use these wisely.
Paradroid #90 - Battle #1 - end.png
The end result, I win .. but I also end up in a lesser skilled droid. Use your skills in the transfer game to upgrade your droid to the bigger and better ones - the droid gallery is viewable from the desks dotted around each level. You're aiming to get to droid #999.

Hope this helps Dave and anyone else playing this.
