Are you using Hatari version v2.1?

Hatari can show more pixels than most (analog) monitors would with real HW, so demos don't necessarily clear all of their borders fully.

Real HW can also have different video wake up states after boot, and between Atari HW having different chip versions. Depending on how good demo overscan stabilizer is, that can cause problems in demos. Is there a difference in how demo looks between different Hatari --video-timing ws1/ws2/ws3/ws4 options (by default Hatari uses ws3, wake state 3)?

And is there a difference if you use MegaSTE machine configuration instead of STE one?

(It can be Hatari bug, but it's better if you can first check whether it could be an issue in the demo itself.)

Drone is an STE demo, so there's no wakestate involved, no need to check their different values :)

Oh, I didn't realize that --video-timing is only for ST (it's in ST/STE section of the command line options). Maybe the option explanation could explicitly state that it's for ST MMU/GLUE?

Yes, there is not enough space in the GUI but it could be specificied that it's STF only in the doc.

Should really grey it out when STE/MSTE/TT etc are selected.

There's no such option in the SDL UI, it's rather limited :)

On real hardware this demo can have problems.

For example, on my STe (4mb 4160STe, TOS 1.62) the demo crashes when run from the internal SD card on my UltraSatan, but runs very happily from my transfer card only. I remember CiH puzzling over this for a few hours at a past Outline party to try and find out why it was doing this; think it worked fine with his setup.
Atari Falcon x 4 (including a broken one that I need to get fixed), Atari Mega STe (4mb, TOS 2.05), Atari STe (1mb), Atari Mega ST (2mb) with SC1435 color monitor, Atari 4160 STe (4mb, TOS 1.62), Atari STFM (2.5mb), Atari 800xl with Ultimate 1mb upgrade and SIO2SD (a fantastic upgrade, definitely worth it).
Other formats used sometimes as well for necessity's sake :) On PS4 and PS3, username: felicemaggie

Does it also look like the overscan had some part at of the right edge with garbage, in the overscan image with a man whose chest is exploding, and in the overscan spinning star field?

(With EmuTOS there's also bad flickering in the horizontal scrolling "DRONE" text in the very beginning, but as that doesn't happen with real TOS, I assume it's EmuTOS and/or demo issue.)
