Bug on Elite menu with "Cadaver - the payoff" (dat

Post by sodas »

Dear Doctor Bob!

After months of search I got lucky and found the datadisk I was looking for: Cadaver - The Payoff (Expansion for the bitmap brothers 1990 smashhit, CADAVER).

Brume found it for me ( - se the thread on "Game Request"), and uploaded it!

The diskimage itself is working fine, but unfortunately there is a bug!!

Whenever I enter a certain room (one of the first rooms on the first level - its a room with no door..) the game crashes...

Maybe You can help me get another copy from another source??

Sincerely
Sodas

Hi Sodas,

Check this screenshot... It also crashes under Steem.

You better ask ICS. Send him a PM.

This Cadaver add on was also available on Climatics FTP. According to their list, it could be a different version:

s591.lzh Cadaver -The Payoff (Disk 1/2) + Trainer
s592.lzh Cadaver -The Payoff (Disk 2/2)

address: ftp.atari-warez.com
username: atari
password: st

Use a FTP client. I´m not sure if that FTP is working...

Cheers,
dBG

Hi Bob.

The BUG showed on the screenshot you provided is a known bug that appears randomly all over the game (both on the original Cadaver and the various extension data disks). It's because the original cracks are based on a unfinished beta-version of the final game. (I know because I got so fond of the games back then that I purchased the originals).

Anyway, I will try your advice and see if I can get hold of this alternative menu.

Thanx man.

Sincerely
Sodas
